Do you get the joke?
On a Sunday morning of a weekend where not too much stuff has happened in the Kentucky sports world (the big story was John Wall’s G.P.A. after all,) we’re going to look around the country for our news. From church league to the NBA, with some Kentucky in between, these are your Sunday morning links.
-Sources are reporting that the decision to fire Mike Brown as the head coach for the Cleveland Cavaliers has already been made.
–Have you ever dreamed of picking on kids, and everyone loving you for it? Sure, only every night, you say? Well the solution is simple. Pose as a sixteen year old, go back to high school and lead your team to the playoffs, all the while earning the love and adoration of your town, only to break their heart when they find out you’re actually twenty two. Hope you didn’t have too much fun at the after prom party…
-Still, if that last guy is a power forward, we should check him out.
-If you’re wondering what graduates from the University of Kentucky are doing with their free time, now that they face the harsh reality of finding jobs in this economic climate, look no further. We’re playing a big game of Truth or Dare. Your turn Perry – I pick Truth.
-In a story I picked up from Anthony Wireman, a former church league basketball coach is being accused with trying to bribe referees to call games in his favor. I knew that was supposed to be a goal tend.
-We get made fun of a lot (mainly by each other,) for “not being real journalists.” Sometimes, people even question our ability to talk sports for a hobby. *Gasp!* They say “you all know nothing about the subject which you are talking!” Which is marginally true, given the frequency in which politics gets brought up on the site. But as a response, I give you this. Note: I will be appearing on Around The Horn this Wednesday.
-Finally, in a little bit of legitimate Kentucky news, the coaching staff has contacted Illini recruiting stud Jerrance Howard to fill the assistant coach position. This doesn’t mean that Kenny Payne won’t be coming to Kentucky, but that they are looking at all options. If the name sounds familiar, it’s because he worked here in an administrative position under Billy Gillispie. Also, if the name sounds familiar, you may spend too much time surfing Kentucky Sports sites. Just saying.
I will be here all Sunday, bringing you any and every piece of Kentucky news that breaks, or seven posts with sports related topics, whichever comes first.
