Sunday Afternoon Notes with Clyde

Some Sunday notes…

— The news from the football scrimmage continues to be generally positive. I spoke with someone from UK today who told me that the offense was “very good” and the defense “so-so”. Everyone continues to rave about Hartline, who has been said to be better all fall and produced his best performance yesterday. Brooks wondered if he had any incompletions during the entire affair….a great sign compared to last season.

Micah Johnson said on his Twitter this morning that he played poorly in the scrimmage and didnt know why. The defense was a step slow all day, with Rich Brooks even mentioning Trevard Lindley as a guy who didnt perform up to speed.

Will Fidler is also apparently looking much better. It may not be a certainty that one of the Freshmen or Randall Cobb is the sure backup.

— On the basketball court, Eric Bledsoe continues to be the revelation for people who didnt know. I spoke with a former UK player who recently saw him play that told me “he might be the quickest player I have seen from one end of the court to the other in years.” Its about to get right….

Logan County Little Leaguers are headed to the LLWS. We havent heard from our man Kige recently….he is from Russellville and I know has to be thrilled. Lets hope we get some video word on his thoughts.

— I love that there are newspaper writers who continue to complain about the media saturation on the Rick Pitino story, but then write about it everyday themselves.

Brian Brohm looked awful in Green Bay. What happened to that kid?

— Did anyone see “The Goods”?. It has to either be great or terrible…I cant imagine anything in between.

— Lots of live blogs coming this week:

Monday: Clay Travis
Tuesday: Gary Parrish
Thursday: Tucker Max

Tom Leach will be doing a book signing on Tuesday the 25th in Louisville. Mark your calendars to come see him.

— As part of our site redesign, we may be able to add some small features. Any suggestions on what you want to see?

— Hearing that UNC, UCONN and Indiana are three back to back games in an eight day span. If so, that is quite a flurry.

More later tonight…
