Strong doesn’t want a piece of the SEC

Charlie Strong has almost 20 years of experience coaching in the SEC, so the man knows a thing or two about the Southeastern Conference. That explains why he doesn’t want anything to do with it as the head coach of Louisville.

“I don’t want that schedule,” he told reporters when asked how Louisville would fare in the SEC.

Like us, Charlie Strong knows exactly how his team would finish the year if they were in Kentucky’s conference. I bet ya the “Bird Gang” or “Card Nation” wouldn’t be talking so much trash to Kentucky fans about this upcoming season if they had a similar schedule.

Enjoy your cupcakes, Louisville.

The guy is kidding. Of course he’d rather be in a better conference and UL would jump at the opportunity.

just curious, when is the last time uk played alabama? And why do they not play more often? seems like the lsu game is every couple yrs but i can only recall 1 recent bama game

I hope UK plays well against them, and I’ll root for UK all year. But bragging about beating UK in football is like saying your meatloaf tastes better than dog poo.

Also played Alabama in 2008. Miss. St is the only SEC west team UK plays more often than others. Just like Alabama has a SEC East team they always play

WTF are you talking about? 2-10?? They don’t play a single team ranked in the top 25. UK plays 6 or 7. Learn to read before posting.

Louisville will lose at least three games this year, you guys have to go to Pitt, Southern Miss, and Rutgers, all three could be wins for I understand but two of those teams have played you guys very tough in the past couple years and Southern Miss is no pushover at all.
Having Cincy, USF and UCONN at home will be a small help to you. North Carolina will not be an easy team to beat the week after the UK game.

#19 fiu cant even beat western, sec is a whole other ball game compared to the big easy, youl see the difference sept 2nd after the projected champ takes on the last place sec team. uk would easily have a winning record in the big east, instead of playing (in a row) fla uga usc msu ark mizzou vandy, we would be playing the likes of temple and uconn or syracuse.

#24 What is the record the last 5 years between UK and UofL? You do realize the last time UofL won was in 2006 before finally winning last year, right? Good thing our freshman receiver fumbled at the 5 yard line late in the game or UK might have made it 5 in a row over the Cards. What makes you think UofL is so much better than UK? Please tell me what they have done besides play in a suck a#$ conference against suck [email protected]# teams?

#25 UK’s QB was out because he got stupid and went out and got drunk three weeks before a bowl game and was thrown in jail for two differant things one PI amd the other hitting a woman he was with across the face. And yes he would made a big differance in the game maybe not a UK win but the game would have been alot better in UK’s chances to win.

Same old thing from jill all the time…she think that UofL is the bomb in football…UofL plays the WEAKEST schedule possible and still managed to lose 12 games the last two seasons…the poor deluded idiot actually thinks that UofL is good at football…she doesn’t realize that UofL sucks…the difference between UK and UofL fans is that we know our football program sucks(and yet we still have the lead in the overall series) and the poor stupid UofL fans think that they are some sort of football powerhouse. Well I have news for them they are not. That is why no conference wanted them when all realignment took place…don’t they realize that if they were any good at all, the ACC, Big 12 or anybody else would have picked them up but instead everbody passed them over like leftovers at the KFC buffet. These UofL fans need to wake up and smell the coffee…they suck at football!! Even if they beat UK every year, they still suck at football…and we own their a$$ at the basketball (which is the most important sport in this state)…End of story.

24 – You are crazy. We didn’t have our starting QB…….Hartline would have torched Pitt. I’m sorry, but if you don’t think a QB is worth 17 points than you have no hope. Just look at the Indianapolis Colts without Peyton Manning. If you take away a QB that is putting up numbers and replace him with street trash, your probably going to lose.

Where was UofL on that list? I didn’t see them anywhere…but I did see UK in the top 10. This is an objective competition that factors in all sports. You keep going on and on about how UofL is better at all sports than UK but obviously that isn’t the case. You just can’t face facts. And yes, it sure looks like North Dakota ST and Loyola of Md finished ahead of your beloved cardinals. Everyone has been trying to tell you that the Cards really just aren’t that good.
