Stoops on landing Hatcher: “Kentucky’s here. We’re not messing around.”

Mark Stoops, Neal Brown, and DJ Eliot sat down with Tom Leach at the UK Alumni luncheon in Louisville to preview the upcoming season, and there were a few newsworthy tidbits worth sharing.

Obviously, two of the stars of the 2013 class are Jason Hatcher and Ryan Timmons. DJ Eliot said that landing those two in-state stars was so important that Stoops asked him to visit them on day one: “I was hired at 8 a.m. I think by 10, I was in Timmons’ school. By noon, I was in Hatcher’s.”

Stoops says that was not a coincidence: “Timmons and Hatcher are pretty important, right?”

In fact, Stoops said that landing Hatcher was a crucial first step in changing the mindset around the program in the Louisville area: “We want to let people know we walk in here in Louisville and Trinity that Kentucky’s here. We’re not messing around.

This may be interesting for KSR to look more into. MLB is the only organization to investigate this situation with PED’s. This guy has information that NCAA and NBA players were also on the list of clients. Could be interesting to see what comes out of this.

Supposedly when they had all the coaches go up to Trinity it was during his lunch period and when they walked in the cafeteria one of our coaches screamed, “KENTUCKY IS IN THE HOUSE!!!!” Awesome
