Stoops made an appearance on NFL AM

stoops-nfl

Our favorite college football coach was a guest on the NFL Network’s NFL AM this morning, live from New York City. Stoops was on to talk a little bit about Florida State’s NFL draft prospects and how life has been over the past five months as the head coach at the University of Kentucky.

He didn’t have much to say about UK that we haven’t already heard, but he did say he believes he is the best coach from the Stoops lineage.  “Of course I’m the best coach,” he said. “I’m the youngest so I got the blend of all the good from each of them.”

Stoops also gave Coach Cal and the basketball program credit for being very helpful with football recruiting. He said it’s great to take recruits to games at Rupp Arena and Calipari always takes time out of his game preparation to say a few things to the visitors.

Go Cats.

Go UK Football Publicity.

STOOPS!!! Glad to see our coach making the airwaves on the day of the NFL Draft and selling his vision to potential recruits.

My favorite thing I’ve seen about Stoops so far is that he doesn’t try to sugarcoat UK’s talent deficit. He knows first hand what a top tier defense looks and plays like. He will make sure the right recruits are brought in on the defensive side of the ball and do each of the necessary things to set us up for success. We’ve also seen already the impact Neil Brown has made with recruits that want to play in his offensive system.

I see nothing but good times ahead for UK football in the near future. We may have some bumps along the way this season, but give these guys a few years to implement their systems and bring in better talent and the results will shine through.
