Stoops Enjoyed His First Derby

Mark Stoops certainly enjoyed himself today. Somewhere, Mary Jo Perino is writhing with jealousy.

And, for good measure, schmoozing with Randall Cobb. Stoops is such a social butterfly.

Take me next year, Mark?

I hope those aren’t rolling papers in Kid’s hand.

If Kid Rock had a thought bubble in this pic:
“who the f? are these guys?”

Got something else he might have thought?

Stoops is alway gracious, even to the point of allowing the long haired homeless guy who managed to crash millionaires row to be photographed with him… Or is that Kid Rock?

Anyone else wish Stoops had gone to check on Ashley Lowery instead of going to the Derby? I don’t think Cal would go to Derby day if Willie Cauley Stein was in critical condition after an accident like that. He didn’t tweet about it as far as I can tell. Seems odd to me.

11 (Austin) – The weather in GA has been dicey. Lowery wasn’t able to be flown to the hospital because of it. That may have affected whether or not coach Stoops would have been able to fly down there today. Reports were that he was being updated throughout the day as soon as info was known.

I think he should have used the Twitter account to send out his thoughts. I am sure he has been in touch with people behind the scenes. I don’t know, it didn’t sit well with me. I am sure that he has talked with the family and handled that part of it well. Maybe the family asked Stoops not to comment on it, who knows.

I live in Atlanta. The weather is pretty crummy here today. I still love Stoops, just think he could have said something about how his thoughts were with Lowery and his family. WWCD (What Would Calipari Do?) I have no doubt that he would have at least sent out thoughts and said he would be there when the weather allowed a flight in town.

Just saw that Stoops put out a tweet about it. Could have been earlier, but oh well. I am not going to lose sleep over it.
