Still no word on who will coach the next two games

Joker Phillips still hasn’t decided if he’ll coach Kentucky’s final two games this season. The team is off today but they’ll return to practice tomorrow, so we’ll know then, if not sooner, who will be in charge for the Samford and Tennessee games. Like Matt wrote last night, the initial thought was Joker would step down, but he may finish this thing out after the outpouring of kind sentiments he received over the last 24 hours.

KSR hopes he’ll stick around for a send-off in Commonwealth Stadium with his seniors and a win in his final home game at Kentucky. And then beat Tennessee, of course.

If he beats the volunturds for the second straight year, and creates his own streak, he should be brought back.

How much will it hurt the legacy of Joker (for the future when he’s talked about and brought back) if he doesnt coach these two games and the interim staff lead the team to two victories? We all assume we will win this upcoming game vs Samford…its just a slap in the face if we win the last one as well without Joker.

However it has to be assumed he will coach this next game as the players are behind him and want to play well for him on the way out.

If joker doesn’t coach the final 2 games, he is a bigger chump that we have been lead to believe.

And… if the decision for joker not to coach is mitch’s, then he should be fired too. Mitch is a complete failure in soooo many ways anyway.

If Joker doesn’t Coach the last two games , it will only prove that he is a self-centered little whinnie baby. He made a lot of money at UK over the years and is getting around 2.55 milion for his buy-out. It’s hard to feel sorry for someone in that position.
If he doesn’t do it for himself, he should be there for his players.

They should pick a fan out of the 10 people that attend the game and let them coach.

13 – Joker, don’t you have better things to do than sit here and defend yourself. If you don’t have to get ready for the last two games at least go do something fun with your $2.5mil that we paid you to get the hell out of here.

Joker had a affair with Mary Jo Perino. His wife found out so he cut it off. A coach like that doesnt deserve to finish out the season.

#12 – Yo ‘idiot’ – you’re are about as smart as Joker. I’m guessing you didn’t read the second sentence of #6’s post.

We don’t get answers from this administration – so we may never know who’s decision it is for Joker to coach or not to coach. Does anyone see Mitch having a presser where he actually has to answer tough questions?

Bobby Petrino leads almost 2 – 1 over the second place Sonny Dykes in the WDRB.com poll:

18, that’s a good point. The only real difference between Joker and Petrino is Joker doesn’t own a bike.
Oh yeah, and Bobby P can coach

isn’t it kinda like rubbing joker’s face in it if he’s asked to coach the last 2 games after he’s been fired? i know he’s still being paid but his UK career ended yesterday.

24 “unclassy”…what dictionary to you use, Urban dictionary? Clearly you are a Louisville fan who is so classy that you root for an adulterer who pays for his mistress’ abortions. Keep it classier than us, Cards!

    14. Tennessee fired up? If you haven’t noticed, their program isn’t exactly hitting on all cylinders. It may be possible that their players don’t like Dooley and have quit on him.

12–the decision IS actually up to Joker. MB let him decide. He did not show up for meetings with the team yesterday (film and weights) other than to give them the news. Right now he is leaning on coming back. He originally was not going to becasue he did not want to be a distraction.

The players are all still in shock. They want him to finish the season.

I say we better make sure that Joker does NOT coach another game and let ANYONE else take a shot at it. How else are we going to know who’s to blame!!? Is it Joker’s POOR coaching ability or a team of players with sub talent for ANY Division I football ability? If a new coach takes over, and wins the last two games, then you know in an instant that Joker can not coach at this level and that finding a new head coach will be easier if he knows that he really does have something to work with. You CAN’T let Joker coach the last last two games!!!!!

And #22-#23 ‘Rixter’… BITE ME! And everyone of us in the UK student section. Bobby Petrino is a liar, a cheater, a jerk, and would only embarrass UK football worse than it already is. You want to know how we really feel??????!!!!!!!!

We gave Joker hell all year and righfully so (You too KSR)! Now the man is fired which we all wanted and we’re supposed to pack the stadium and “show our respect”? Haha, if I was Joker I’d say hell with everyone and not finish out. He was just fired from the school he played football at w/ 2 games left on the schedule, the stadium has been empty, fans have been booing him? I hope he calls it quits and starts searching for his next job.
