Steve Brown to UCLA?

You can’t blame him for looking, but you have to be at least a little surprised at who is returning the advances.  According to the LA Times, current Kentucky co-defensive coordinator Steve Brown interviewed with UCLA this week for their open defensive coordinator position.  The Bruins, who ranked 94th overall in total defense and 86th in scoring defense (30 ppg), are apparently intrigued by Brown’s 45th overall unit (28 ppg) and the way his face seems to out-grow his mustache a little more each season.

Yes, it’s true.  Steve Brown is an upgrade at some places.

Steve Brown is a good coach. He’s not the answer at Kentucky, obviously, but that doesn’t take away his ability. We need someone to light a fire under kids, and that’s not his thing. That’s all.

On ESPN Insider Todd McShay just released his latest mock draft and look where he has the green-eyed one. Seems way high, but I hope he’s right. Would be great for Cobb.

    #26. Baltimore RavensRecord: 12-4
Randall Cobb, WR, Kentucky*The Ravens need speed at wide receiver and Cobb is an underrated offensive weapon who would fit the bill. He’s a very savvy route-runner and can also contribute in the return game. Baltimore could also look to fill needs at cornerback or defensive end.

Well, look at Mike Archer. He has experienced more success at NC State.

That small child looks absolutely terrified in the pic. Also, the blond on the far left is very attractive and I would UCL her A.

5… Baltimore would be a great fit for Cobb. Good, young quarterback in Flacco. They already have a #1 WR in Anquan Boldin. He could play slot and return punts for an already good team that just needs a little offensive push.

Steve Brown is a good coach but plays a prevent style defense. Next year Kentucky is going to use more blitz packages and try to get to the QB. Who cares if we take chances on geting burned. What do we have to lose in the SEC right??

Our corner play has vastly improved under Steve Brown he will be missed! I think its more about the jimmy and joes than the X and Os if he had a M Pryor or C Peters this years Def would have been better and we could have won a few more games! Go Cats!

I am praying they are stupid enough to take him. I think UK should pay part of his salary to get him out of here!

It amazes me how you people talk about how much you love UK, but get on a blog and dog a coach. You then ask the coaches to support your blog. I hope Joker and the whole football family never talk to you again. I love how an English, Pre-Law, History, Political Science or Journalism major, who probably never played a sport, will tell a coach what they are doing wrong. Lets leave the negative talk about UK for the UL and UT fans.

Good luck to Steve Brown. He tried to turn UK’s defense around and he succeeded to an extent. He became the object of alot of fans’ displeasure. That is the nature of the business. I hope UCLA hires him and he helps them out.
