State Football Playoffs Reach Quarterfinal Stage

There are just 48 high school football teams still playing, but out of those 48 teams, 5 of the 6 defending state champions still remain.  Only Fort Campbell has bowed out.  Now, if you are looking for the Cinderella stories still remaining, you can look to Anderson County in 5-A and Lexington Lafayette in 6-A, who both came into the playoffs ranked outside the Top 20 in their class, but still find themselves in the Final 8. 

And of course, if you work with or have any connection to alumni of Trinity or Saint X, their game this weekend is once again the greatest matchup in the history of high school football.  Of course, when Cam Newton considered coming to your school this year, you can see why those teams are good.  If you don’t get that, and I am looking at you Beard Guy from Anderson County, I am saying they recruit.
