University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Spring game commitments coming soon?

If you look closely, you may be able to find a few football recruits giving their pledges to join the Cats somewhere in this crowd.

The recruiting rumor mill is already churning after yesterday’s incredible spring game. Usually, big time spring games result in big time commitments at big time school. Kentucky is making their presence known under Stoops, and the support and fervor of Big Blue Nation is to the thank for this. Yesterday was a testament to the fans support of football, and the recruits at the game could see that. Word is leaking out that the football team may have already received a commitment based on the spring game. This could be another big step in the battle between Stoops vs. Strong for football dominance in the state. See Matt’s tweet below:

2 he has already gotten a better recruiting class in his first year than strong. Now does that mean he can beat him, no, but I dont think its point blank period. I mean if Joker could beat strong im pretty sure stoops can.

“LOL”, Louisville fans will never stop trolling KSR out of jealousy.

Little Brother Syndrome, Herpes…two diseases leaving a grave and pitiful mark on Louisville’s fan base. Symptoms include itching, a rash, line beards, and the inability to use proper grammar.

Recommended medications include ointments, Crown Royal, and dinner at Porcini.

Word buzzing around is that the commit this morning is Matt Elam. He is a mountain of a young man that Charlie Strong wants bad. Hope it’s true. Also hearing that Barker may be close to committing as well. BTW, when we beat “little brother” this year, I want a close up on KSR of Charlie Strong’s face. He’s been talking smack privately that he is going to own Stoops.

It’s nice to compare Stoops and Strong. But that’s not who we’re competing against and they really aren’t a recruiting threat. Strong started off the semester and early spring recruiting a lot of the same players as Stoops but has backed off. Strong didn’t do s*** to capitalize off of the Sugar Bowl fluke. We are recruiting against Ohio State and the SEC

You stupid MOFOs talk alot for a team coming off a 2-10 season. I will give you that UK will be a much better team under Stoops. They will not beat Louisville this year, point blank, period. Won’t happen. 7) I can’t wait to see the camera shots of UK fans in the crowd after coming into the Louisville game 2-0 and feeling like they have a chance, only to see the sh!t get kicked out of UK. No way UofL loses that game by less than 2 TDs. Bridgewater is a top 10 pick next year, has great recievers, and a solid defense behind him. If UofL can’t find a solid QB for 2014, and UK continues with progress, then I could see a UK victory at PJCS, but anyone talking smack about this years game is just setting themselves up for a very miserable Saturday in September.

#15: I think UofL losing by no less than 2 TDs is a little much. I would say UK wins by 7 – 10 bigguns.

#15 are you crazy? UK will be 1-1 coming into the UofL game, not 2-0. They couldn’t beat the Toppers at home with Taggert. Sure not gonna beat WKU away when Petrino has a few months to gameplan. LMAO at what these “fans” will be saying when Stoops starts out 0-1.

The funny thing is that if UL goes 13-0 there is no way possible they will play for the championship. The BCS won’t recognize their high school schedule.

@15 – I thought dumbest fans ever was a tie between those who thought they had a title year till they met up up with Morehead State in the NCAAT a couple of years back and those who won’t understand when their city taxes skyrocket next year to keep their program’s revenues flowing. Hope you can afford the new ticket prices.

The only way U of L even comes close to 14-0 is because they play in an absolutely terrible football conference where they will not face any competition. They SHOULD have gone undefeated last year in that terrible league, but they ended up choking and couldn’t do it — they’re unlikely to go undefeated in conference this year for the same reason.

And 15 makes good points, despite being insulting about it. U of L should beat us this year – established coaching staff, great quarterback, strong returning players, etc.. But it is very realistic to think that, if things go well this spring and fall, we could get lucky and pick up a win in either the U of L or Florida games, because I don’t think either of those teams are as invincible as they think they are and UK has the talent on campus and coming in to give them a run.

All of that being said, if you want to talk U of L football, go to the Card Chronicle.

#23.thats a weak comeback. So UofL choked? Did they pound UK? Did they go to a BCS Bowl? Did they beat a FL team that UK hasn’t been competitive with past the middle of the first quarter in 26 years? Or 27? Who can keep count anymore? You correctly say UofL should win this year. Given 2-3 years of recruiting, Stoops may actually beat UofL, if he is still at UK. But next season won’t be close.

I started reading the comments on this post and noticed 9 comments of the the ? On a related note about question marks…..did anyone else notice the ? at the end of the National Anthem? The ribbon board at CWS read “For the land of the free and the home of the brave?” I started to snap a picture of it with my phone but it cut off too quick.

I love al the UL fans on here!!!…The fear is setting in. Will UK beat UL this year? Probably not, for UK has to install an entire new package, and UL has a bunch of experienced players with Teddy at the helm. Yet, UK is already making waves with recruits, and the talent will be their in the future.

This coming year is going to be tough for the Cats, as they have a loaded SEC schedule that has them taking on Florida, Alabama, and South Carolina in a 3 week time. UL on the other hand, plays one of the WEAKEST schedules by any BCS team in the country!

Just learned these states have the cardinal as their state bird: Seven states. Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, North Carolina, Ohio, Virginia, and West Virginia. Killing a cardinal is punishable by up to $15,000 in fines. Anyone with time on their hands want to calculate how much Crown Royal that would buy for all the times UK killed a Card in basketball?

For what it is worth UofSmell should beat us next year…They have the more established system, players acclimated to the system, etc…but it won’t be an easy win. You are not going to walk into CWS and push us around. Don’t be surprised when those air raid sirens go off and your defense is gassed because we run plays as soon as the ball is spotted….and don’t be surprised when we walk away with the win and your dreams of going undefeated just vanish. You should win, but my gut tells me you don’t….this was your year, but next year BELONGS TO UK!

@15 That is what Stoops and Co. are counting on: Loserville being over confident to the point of over looking a team that has actual coaching now. I think we have had decent to good talent the last two years, just piss poor coaching. We will see how you like the upset we pull when Strong does not give us the credit he should.

  37. L1STFU
    7:33 pm April 14, 2013 Permalink

Not to mention the fact that Stoops has majorly upgraded the talent IN ONE CLASS. Z. Smith, Borden, Hatcher, Timmons, Willis, Kemp, Blue, Badet, etc. The list goes on and on of kids that are going to be impact freshmen.

26 – Yeah, U of L choked against Syracuse and UConn. I said they didn’t go undefeated last year, when they should have, because they choked. That’s not an argument — it’s a fact. There’s no reason U of L should have lost to either of those teams — U of L had better talent, better coaching, and the UConn game was at home.

And I just looked at their schedule for next season and UK is actually the toughest team they will play, other than Cincinnati. How pathetic is a schedule where the one of the toughest games is against a rival who went 2-10 and has a brand new coaching staff?
