Sports Illustrated gives Trevathan some love

The postseason honors and awards just keep rolling in for Danny Trevathan. Today he was named second team All-American by Sports Illustrated. The SI.com All-American honor is just another award on the long list of accolades the SEC’s leading tackler received this season:

Second Team All-American by SI.com
Third Team All-American by Rivals.com
Nation’s Top Linebacker by College Football Performance Awards
First Team All-SEC by AP
First Team All-SEC by Rivals.com
Second Team All-SEC by SEC Coaches

One NFL team is going to be lucky to pick up Trevathan here in a few months. I’m looking forward to following his path to the NFL Draft.

Go Cats.

Hope its the Bengals, but doubt they’d take a linebacker that high since we already got a good crop.

1 – I doubt he would start at the beginning of the year as a rookie, but it is all depending on the team (who they already have and injuries) he could probably see significant time later in the season. But if someone really needs a linebacker he could play right away. Just never know.

    It’s a scam he’s not first team all-American.

He will not be a linebacker in the NFL. He will be absolute beast as a specialist on kick off and punt coverage

I still believe he is not big enough now to play Inside Linebacker in the NFL. He may have a chance to move to OLB or some sort of hybrid safety/LB type position. I hope he is an impact player somewhere.

I went to the UT game just so I could see him and Winston Guy suit up for the Big Blue one more time. I would say it was worth it. He will make any NFL team that passes on him pay.
