Special Teams, Defense Get Some Praise

dundie-award

Joker was understandably tough on the offense in general today at his presser but had plenty of nice things to say about the defense and special teams.  Joker wasn’t the only one though, as College Football Performance Awards threw a few mentions their way. Winston Guy was named the Defensive Back Performer of the week, though he had to share the title with Dwight Bently of Louisiana-Lafayette whose team gave up 61 points so I don’t know how happy we can be with co-winners.

Guy wasn’t the only Wildcat to get noticed though, as both Ryan Tydlacka and Joe Mansour were named honorable mentions in Punter of the week and Kickoff Specialist of the week respectively.  I don’t know what more you could ask for from Tydlacka after the debacle from the offense last week, but hopefully this will be the last award he gets this year.  You know, because the offense will be scoring points and not going three and out.

Congratulations to all three on some well deserved praise, but let’s try and share the wealth with the offense a little next week okay guys?

The dude who designed Maryland’s uniforms tonight must have been huffin paint. Those things are hideous.

I thought the UGA uniforms were awesome, I even tolerate the Oregon ones, but these Maryland uniforms look like something Drew Franklin would throw up after a late night of taco bell and booze.

The coach still has not said one thing about himself being responsible for lack of offensive preparation in week 1 against a sun belt team. Nothing.

I don’t want him to breakdown and cry about it but this lack of prep was so obvious, hell..take a page from Cal’s book (He has said that a portion of a bad performance lies with him on a few occassions).

In this instance why is everyone with any football knowledge seeing it and Joker remains quiet…blaming the players. yeah, they sucked…but damn, where was your involvement coach over 2 halves, no will or emotion observed, no adjustment is play calls, etc…?

Yesterday, I said I was gonna be quiet on this. Then…damn, another thread starts.

4…UGA’s had that Robo-look going on. Shame they didn’t win that one for us SEC homers.

This defense looked good only because of the opponent! Pittsburg would have laid the same whipping on us as last year. I cannot see the high praise for being lucky that their quarterback could not throw the ball. The defense award should go to WKU Quarterback, end of story. Special teams did a good job.

Maryland’s uniforms look like those of a rugby team.

…A rugby team with BAD uniforms.
