Speaking of facility upgrades…check out Alabama’s new digs

Kentucky ‘s football team will be on the receiving end of major upcoming facility upgrades to Commonwealth Stadium, including a new recruiting room among other things. Yesterday we took a look at what Oregon’s new facility upgrades looked like. Today, we check out Alabama’s. The class of the SEC just unveiled a few new changes, in case you were curious about what the rest of the SEC has to live up to…

And if all of that wasn’t enough…. They have waterfalls. THEY HAVE WATERFALLS! (Four of them, actually)

Like them or hate them, they are the standard everyone else strives to live up to.

4 & 6. He loves his family & state; he said as much. Let’s hope blood overcomes bling in this case.

As nice as this is, it’s poor timing for Alabama. It looks like a double-wide next to the palace that Oregon just built.

It is very nice, but I’m not blown away. Who has upright arcade games these days?

Someday Coach Stoops will have us in plush facilities like those. Write it down.

4 — Those things are just material. Although Alabama is a great program and has great coaches, too, the power of playing for a team that your heart is attached to can have a more powerful pull on a kid. Do you want to sacrifice everything to possibly be relegated to being just another player at Alabama, or so that you might actually become a legend in you home state? It’s up to him, but I know those are thoughts I would seriously be thinking about. His home state and school needs him more than Alabama will ever need him. Will he answer the call?

    13. Winning is a powerful pull on a kid too. I’m sure Elam prefers playing in big bowl games rather than watching all the bowl games from home like UK players do.

Well a little more all eastern ky coal money we could have that at uk, you know thats where MATT says the money comes from which is not true. Come on Matt run for office state wide with your liberial BS. You wont cause you know you would lose.

Kev56 – must burn your ass that the governor is a Dem, and not even from Louisville. He’s from my “neck o’ the woods” in the western ky coal fields and tobacco farms. There are a lot more of us “liberals” across the state than you think.

The coal money is a bad deal for the whole state and that comes from a guy who’s had plenty of family down in the hole. Ok for the craft center but not the landmark that’s on ESPN all the time. Bad image for the future.

Yeah like #8 said, this is REALLY nice, but Oregon’s new facilities are AMAZING. Must be nice having Phil Knight as an alumni.

These pics dont do justice to what was built in Tuscaloosa. Get the full tour via video and you will see that it’s just as nice or nice than what Oregon built. Yes indeed it would be nice to have Phil Knights money however.

Our video rooms are just as good if not better. We were well ahead of the rest of the SEC with our video rooms and team meeting room when each project was done in 2010 and 2008 respectively. However, the rest of this is definitely the gold standard.
