Jason King over at Rivals has a very interesting profile of Coach Cal, who is feeling that refreshing, relieved feeling these days as he gets going with some individual workouts. King, who puts together a very good piece, talks to Cal about how fired up he is to get things going this season, but also tries to get some thoughts on how Coach Cal is feeling about the beating he’s taking from a few media types. Coach sticks to his “no comment’ guns for the most part, but issues this very interesting line:
“There’s [one] guy I don’t like,” Calipari said. “I know he’s a scoundrel. If I keep reading it, I’m going to punch him right in his mouth if I see him. So I’m better [off] not reading it.”
Hmmm. I won’t speculate on who the scoundrel might be (I’m sure you guys will), but if you see someone on press row this year with a fat lip, don’t say we didn’t warn you. Overall, a very strong article and well worth your time.
