Some KSR Housecleaning

ksr

Its been a busy couple of weeks and thus we have some housecleaning items to get to here late on a Thursday night. Four quick things:

(1): We are in need of three KSR INTERNS for the upcoming school year. The interns will be doing work for us on the radio show, podcasts, website and potentially tv (although the latter isnt certain yet). The work will include production, technical work, scheduling and potentially some on-air roles, all of which will go into the various outlets KSR is currently working in. As you probably know, the level of work has increased for all the various outlets and thus we do need some help. The work is unpaid, but if you are in school and are able to get credit, we will work with your institution. We need two people in Lexington and one in Louisville, so if you live in either place, please contact us. We would prefer people in school, but if you arent in school and understand that the work is unpaid are willing to put in the year commitment, you will be considered. This is a good chance to get your foot in the door in the sports world and if you are good, we are always adding people to the KSR world. Also since Kate left the site, we are in need of female particpation as well, so women are encouraged to apply as well. Please email me a resume, along with your reason for applying to [email protected] by TUESDAY AT MIDNIGHT. If you already contacted me on Facebook, you will need to send it again to this email address to be considered.

(2): We have also finally created the official Kentucky Sports Radio Facebook page. Because we use the blog for posts and Twitter for breaking news, we will likely be using the Facebook page for radio, tv and podcast information most often. In addition, we will be doing giveaways during the season with various sponsors on all three of those outlets. Please “like” the page if you can this weekend and use it to follow along with what we do. We thank all of you who have already done it this weekend.

(3): We didnt post about it much because of the trip, but we released the First Episode of SEASON 2 of the KSR Podcast. If you havent yet done so, you can subscribe to the podcast and download episode 1 here. It is a very good one, as Turkey Hunter, Drew Franklin, Hubby, Tall and I recount the summer….including the Sypher trial, Anthony Davis and a lot of other nonsense. We will be taping an episode every week beginning next Saturday (where our guest will be Mary Jo Perino), so subscribe and you will get them automatically.

(4): Finally, the Kentucky Sports Radio Show begins tomorrow at 10 AM on WKJK 1080 AM. People keep asking me if they will be able to get the show, and the coverage map below shows where it can be heard well. Eventually (hopefully by basketball season), we will be streaming for everyone across the country and we hope to be podcasting by the end of the week. Tomorrow’s show will open with Gregg Doyel and Bomani Jones and we have Andy Katz, Oscar Combs and Tom Leach scheduled for later in the week. Plus Mark Krebs will join us in studio for two hours on Wednesday. When we get completely rolling, this will be the most complete UK radio show the state has seen and I cant wait to get started. So tune in if you can, and the map below will tell you if that is possible.
