Some Good Site News

A couple of announcements for the site. First of all, I am happy to announce that the good folks from Wildcat Blitz are going to be merging with this site and working with Kentucky Sports Radio. If you are familiar with the Blitz, you know that Evan Hilbert and TJ Beisner are doing exactly what we have hoped to do here….cover UK sports in an entertaining and creative way. These two young guys started their site a few months back and it has become one of the best places to get interesting UK info on the internet. I love their initiative in starting the site and I am pleased as to what it has become. After discussion with Evan and TJ, we have arranged this merger and we are very excited about it. With my law practice, radio show and new deal with the barnstorming event, attempting to maintain this blog with such a continuous rate has been difficult. I have looked for some time to add guys who I thought could keep the info up and reflect the attitude and perspective of the site….Evan and TJ are those two guys.

For the past 2 1/2 years, now approaching 1,000 days, I have kept this site up and only had 3 days in which I havent posted. Kentucky Sports Radio now averages between 70,000 and 75,000 page views a day and registered 1 million unique visitors for the month of March…..a staggering amout of people for an independent site such as this. Guys like Rob Gidel, Tomlin, Mosley, the Turkey Hunter, the Intern, Bryan the Intern, Bomani Jones, Hubby and others keep the info and reports flowing….but we need and want more. And now Evan and TJ will be doing that. My role on the site will not diminish, and I will still post a great deal, but these guys will help the site have more diverse posts and a greater amount of info.

Plus, these two will be taking the lead on recruiting and football coverage. The one weakness in this site since Rob has had to lower his amount of posting has been a lack of football coverage. It will now likely double or triple thanks to these two guys. Each of them will provide football recruiting tidbits and will give you more basketball recruiting interviews than any free site on the internet. This will continue to be the place to go for recruiting info and UK news and views… we just have more of it.

So join me in welcoming TJ and Evan in helping us continue to grow Kentucky Sports Radio…
