Some Fathers Day Notes

cadf

As with everyone else here, I would like to wish my father a Happy Fathers Day. If I ever get the enjoyment out of anything in life that he does in growing tomatoes in a wheelbarrow and making waffles with blueberries, I will feel as if I have achieved success. A big shout out to the nicest person with the biggest heart that I know.

A few notes…

— I was in Lexington yesterday and last night and saw the remnants of the Father-Son Camp. Fathers and sons were everywhere and from what I understand it was a great event. As in every camp, there was pickup action afterwards, which leads to the inevitable “THIS GUY IS A BEAST” commentary. For the second straight year, the talk revolved around Matt Pilgrim, who was working the camp but not decked out in UK gear due to his coming transfer. I have heard no plans for Matt to stay and take up Jodie’s scholarship, but there are some still hoping for that. Either way, he had a good weekend as did Eric Bledsoe, who continues to impress.

— When did David Duval come back to life? Honestly I had forgotten he existed and he showed up ten years since the last time I saw him, kind of fat and making me feel old. He has officially become the Cameron Mills of pro golf.

— All week during the day there are re-runs of old NBA Drafts on NBATV. Seriously, watch these…you have to. The comedy is out of this world, the outfits are hilarious, the commentary is obviously incorrect (Just heard Rick Barry say that teams “will pay for ten years for passing on Stacy King). Great, great stuff.

— Ran into Jules Camara last night who gave me a line that I had to share. He played last season in Iran, so I asked him about when he left and he told me that it was just a couple of weeks before the elections. HE did however say, “everyone is surprised about the revolution. I told everyone it would happen three years ago. Its just no one listened.” So there you go folks…you need international political analysis….I bring you Soulyemane.

Big props to Dustin Rumbaugh who had a GREAT weekend giving us information from the NBAPA camp. Honestly, I have looked around the internet and have seen no one whose info was better from a UK fan’s perspective. Take some time and look at his reports and you will have a good idea where UK is headed with its 2010 class.

More later tonight….
