So Did you Watch Kimbo?

ooooo

So I got home from the Mosley wedding around 11 last night, in just enough time to see the sensation that turned tvs on around the country, Kimbo Slice fighting on CBS. Yes the Hunter McClintock of the MMA world made his big stage entrance last night, while bringing with him the first ever MMA bout put in primetime on a major television network. People today who are MMA afficianados will downplay the entire affair, but this much is clear….more people watched that fight last night between Kimbo and the guy with the nasty ear than any other MMA fight in history. Kimbo was lucky to advance, taking the advice that the entire crowd at the Johnny “The” Bruce party was yelling the entire time, “HIT HIM IN THE EAR!” He did, and then Glass Joe exploded and was taken out. I am not a huge MMA guy, but I know enough to know that it wasnt a great fight….but I was entertained, and that makes me happy.

UK baseball takes the field today in an elimination game against whoever lost last night between Michigan and Arizona. The BatCats must win three straight to make it to the next round. They beat Eastern Michigan yesterday 4-3 and got to get it going today to keep the dream alive.

I will have more on the Jasper situation tonight, but in the end, it is good that both sides can move on. Jasper was given his release on Friday, both sides agreed to wait until Saturday to announce (when the press isnt as focused) and now he looks for another place to go. I have said this many times on the situation…there are more reasons why Jasper left than have been made public….these reasons have nothing to do with Billy Clyde or the program but make his decision understandable. He gave a good two years at Kentucky and always sacrificed for the team. I hope fans will wish him well.

More later today…..I am off to Pennsylvania tomorrow night, so it should be a busy couple o’ days…..
