Smith will be ready on Saturday, Williams is doubtful

Two pieces of injury news out of UK’s practice this morning — one good, one bad.

Joker Phillips said Max Smith will be ready to play Saturday against the Gamecocks. Smith had some soreness from throwing in yesterday’s practice so he didn’t throw today, but he did hand the ball off with the first team offense. The staff expects him to throw tomorrow in the last practice before the game. Jalen Whitlow did all of the passing with the first team today.

And in the backfield, CoShik Williams is doubtful after re-aggravating that hip injury. Jonathan George and Raymond Sanders will continue to split the carries if Williams can’t go.

Beat Spurrier.

No reason Raymond Sanders should be ahead of Mobley, especially after getting in trouble with weed.

But wouldn’t joker have told us last Wednesday that Max would have started at Florida? I hadn’t heard there was an issue with Max starting up until 5 minutes before kickoff @ Fla.

I just wonder if joker wass given ‘the word’ last week, and that was his way of giving mitch and the BBN the middle finger. If Newton is the answer, I don’t want to know what the question was…

I agree. How in the world is Sanders still playing- small, can’t take a hit, unproductive, and high…

I know KSR is forced to cover it, but KSR just needs to call it a season on football, and just stop talking about it until Joker is fired. Hell UK should just forfeit the rest of their games except Samford, and just save the cost of travel. If UK wants people at the Miss St game, they should move the game to one of the fields on the grounds at Keeneland because Keeneland will have a higher attendance then the game.

Someone should really check on Chester and make sure he is taking his medicine.

I was thinking the same thing #4. Great, Smith is ok to hand the ball off………..so that’s all we’ll see Saturday. run right, run left, run middle, punt.

Ever wonder if maybe Maxwell is better than the coaches are letting on? He says he is ok. Could this be Joker’s excuse for the year? If only we had a healthy quarterback all year?

#4, 8……exactly. How can you not throw on Wednesday and be expected to throw strikes on Saturday. He’s been hurt for over 10 days and cant throw today. Can’t expect a miracle heal in 72 hours. Preposterous.

Hate to see Williams out again — he is fun to watch. I like all the backs — but if line not blocking – won’t matter who hands it off to whom.

what joker needs to do is put 2 half backs out at once one being newton (he can pass it every now and then) but manly to run and to confuse the (D) that would open up some awesome play action passes to (witch Smith seems to be OK at…’ some one help me get this to joker it could help a lot
