University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Skylar McBee is waiting for you (Friday Show Thread)

Not many people can pull off the shaggy hair/mustache look, and Tennessee’s Skylar McBee is one of those people. He stills rocks it anyway. McBee and his brothers in orange are in Knoxville waiting for our second-ranked Cats to come to town on Saturday. But before they do, Matt Jones has a few things to say about the game on the radio. I will be joining him in studio this morning in case he gets off track.

Join in on the fun by calling (502) 571-1080.

Topics include:

— Previewing Tennessee

— A’dia Mathies at the horn

— Tubby gets it done in Bloomington

— More nonsense

The KSR radio widget is still down but you can listen here through iHeartRadio.

    Matt,
Lets start this off by saying I am a long time KSR reader and a radio listener since day one. I take great pains to listen every day be it by podcast or streaming and check the site throughout the day like most fans. The real issue here is not the things you say, rather the blunt honesty, truth and humor in how you say it… The KSR readers and listeners are a group of friends. We take UK athletics and basketball deadly serious. We live this stuff. However we enjoy the humor, the stories and we don’t take ourselves too seriously. We are the kids sitting in the back of class snickering at the kids in the front row raising their hands. We are the people in the office meeting laughing hysterically every time the Tommy Turtleneck bosses of the world use a cliché or try and exert their will on the group. I took a look at Steve/Scott’s website the other day… the “future” of UK reporting. It’s the same info I can get from any University website or AP wire. What these guys don’t get is that this type of reporting is fine, and has its place, but will never be as important to a fan base as “jorts” or “brow down”. It’s the humor and the camaraderie that binds us… not the stats and the potential scandals. The paper is dead, it just doesn’t know it yet… web sites that recycle player interviews and stat lines are fine… but nothing new. It’s your take on things Matt that brings the fans back over and over. I feel like I’m sitting on the couch watching the games with my snarky buddies. Don’t you dare change how you deal with these media types… they are as open to ridicule as anyone. I’d take JT’s wisdom, Fake Barney’s laugh and your smarta$$ comment over any Jerry Tipton article or Steve/Scott post. #KSR4LIFE

    1.

Actual reporting is still important. Without the stream of sources and information, there would be nothing for KSR writers to crack wise about. Bloggers cannot do it on their own, and almost every blog is heavily dependent on reporters – mostly from newspapers – for the work they do.

Last game he made adjustments with the way we ran our offense equaling the win. Coach Cal and Tubby had it different. For the Cal the first half of the season he has to let things go bc we are learning still. Then half way through he adapts to give us the best chance to win.

My voice is gone from all the screaming I did at the game. Also, I just wanted to let you know yesterday I had KSR going on my receiver while Insight broadband was being installed by a young Special Ops Marine recently home from the battlefield. He was cracking up. I think you guys have a new fan.

327, Definitely “My Old Kentucky Home” but it is actually a song that was on a cd that was put out by a rapper named KD. It is definitely, WITHOUT QUESTION, the most underrated and under appreciated pro-Kentucky song ever made and should definitely be considered as our anthem. It features Scales from Nappy Roots and a dude from the Villbillies
