One of the more under-reported storylines of the NBA Draft is the unquestioned certainty that the Philadelphia 76ers seem to have with selecting Evan Turner with the second overall pick. Based on conversations and stories over the past few weeks, it would seem that most media and NBA types see either DeMarcus Cousins or or Derrick Favors as the player behind John Wall with the highest “ceiling” (an NBA Draft vocabulary staple). On NBA.com today, John Schuhmann takes a look at the Sixers’ options and argues that taking Turner, the safe pick, might not be the one with the highest reward. It doesn’t add anything exceptionally new to the what we’ve been reading over the past few weeks, but it’s still an interesting read on what has turned out to be a fairly slow Greenville, Ohio glory day (go USA?).
