It was about a sick man and some extremely poor decisions by leaders. Why can’t those people just be the ones who are punished? 39 — I understand all of the facts. You don’t have to explain to me the seriousness of it. I have worked with kids who have been abused and I understand the facts on how much this is going on in society. This was a happening that wasn’t covered up by the “football program” though. It was covered up by a small handful of individuals as such things are most of the time. You make it seem by your comment that this was a culture of the football program when it wasn’t. It was a sick man and some bad leaders. It wasn’t about all the football players (former and current) and all the people who have supported and made PSU football.

USC was banned from post season for the 2010 and 2011 football seasons. This was just verified at ESPN, Rivals, LA Times and Fox sports. Please get your facts straight. First off, that is just outstanding that his family is so athletic. Secondly, that would seem to be revealing about how a guy like Nerlens plays on the basketball court. What is worthy of note, once everyone stops the knee jerk reactions, is the precedent the NCAA and its director have set. Any civil or criminal matter around a member athletic program is now under NCAA purview as loosely defined as institutional control. This is the expansiveness of the current NCAA leadership—the very stuff about which Calipari has been warning. With this precedent, the NCAA leadership can do anything it wants. They, too, have taken full advantage of this situation. Beware of what may evolve from this precedent. And as we have seen so well, due process does not apply with the NCAA; they do as they please.
