It was bad news last week for a former UK quarterback as Andre Woodson receive walking papers from the Washington Redskins. Today, though, the sun rises again on the golden legacy that is the Wildcat quarterback position as Sugar Shane Boyd has signed with the Indianapolis Colts. The signing of Boyd serves not only as a boost to the Peyton Mannings, but also as a blow to the UFL who loses the man responsible the league’s first ever touchdown just a few weeks after its championship game. For the California Redwoods, Boyd went 75/124 for 814 yards and 3 TDs and 5 INTs, along with 109 yards rushing and 2 touchdowns.
The Lexingtonian enjoyed stints with the Titans, Steelers, Cardinals, and Montreal Alouettes prior to joining the UFL.
***I haven’t seen an official notice, but Aaron Boyd tweeted “My brother is an Indianapolis Colt” and I’m assuming he meant Shane. Really, I’m just gambling.
