Second Half Run gets Kentucky an Ugly 78-65 Win Over Miss. State

After experiencing plenty of ugly wins on the gridiron, Kentucky basketball fans got to experience an ugly weeknight win at Rupp Arena with a 78-65 victory over Mississippi State.

For about 30 minutes, Kentucky could not consistently play good basketball.  Miss. State turned Kentucky turnovers (11 total) into points (18), while UK looked for leadership.  Finally, a Kentucky trio put together a run to take control of the game.

Kevin Knox, P.J. Washington and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander sparked a 13-2 run right around the eight-minute mark to give Kentucky a comfortable cushion.  The trio combined for 57 of Kentucky’s 78 points.  State had one last run left, but it wasn’t enough to beat Kentucky for the first time since 2009.

Learning to love ugly victories is difficult.  You don’t have to love it, just accept it…for now.

Just be thankful we get to play in a terrible conference against these bad teams to get the ugly wins, is better than an ugly loss. Is only way we get to the tourney this year. #1 team in SEC is 0-3 vs ACC teams {including blown out} and lost at home to Loyola Chicago. SEC is 15-25 against Big 12 in the challenge.Auburn looks good cause of record but go look at who they beat, anyone in a power conf would have a great record vs that schedule. Oh well June is coming, can’t wait for the new big night for UK fans since we won’t have to worry about a title or anything close.

Haters gonna hate. You do know the SEC has 8 teams top 40, right? Suck it.

Man, KSR writers are a bunch of sour-grape sucking negative nancies. Sure they struggled, but they also looked good at time. Don’t wallow in the sewer on every blurb you right.

“Once again, Nick has penned an ugly, thoughtless, idiotic ode, but after all he is studying animal husbandry, so what do we expect.” This kind of review would get old, wouldn’t it?

How can a guy as talented as Nick Richards play so poorly (or was he hurt tonight?) This has been a consistent issue with him.
