SEC Wrapup and NCAA thoughts

It is the day after what I usually consider to be one of my top 3 weekends of the year. And once again, the SEC Tournament didnt disappoint. Whether it was getting to sit with my friends during yet another Joakim Noah block and see who could make the funniest joke about his appearance, interviewing Barry Booker seven times and finding each comment made by him a bit more disturbing or seeing Patrick Sparks and Ravi Moss on the streets of Nashville on Saturday, seemingly able to overcome their disappointment from the earlier loss, the SEC was once again top notch.

Now the day after is a bit more disturbing. As stated earlier, the Cats ended up in the one place I didnt want to see them, staring at a second round game vs UCONN. The Cats have virtually no chance of matching up with the Huskies (who loves that Bobby Perry-Josh Boone matchup) and could easily fall to UAB. But at least they made the tournament, something that Rick Pitino and his new hairpiece cannot say.

I will break down the brackets over the next couple of days, but I will leave you with my favorite basketball moment from Nashville. If you listened to any of my interviews, you would have heard Woo talk about his camoflauge hat that he is wearing for the tournament. It is a camo hat, with a UK logo and a flat bill that is (amazingly) a bit too big for his head. After every game, Woo would come in the locker room and immediately put it on his head. After the loss to South Carolina, Woo had it on his head, staring off into space, sitting by himself. I went to ask him about the hat, and he said, “the battle is not over.” You gotta love this guy…
