The SEC Media has weighed in and the 20 SEC “beat writers” have given their preseason picks. Locally, we have two individuals who are part of the process (Jerry Tipton and Brett Dawson) and one of those (guess which one), picked UK third in the East. One generally cant argue too much with the overall predications. Florida and Mississippi State are seen as the favorites, the Cats are third, which is probably correct if Kanter doesnt play. If he does play, Kentucky wins the SEC. The Media didnt make the same mistake it did last year (when it didnt pick John Wall on the First Team even though many thought him a favorite for National Player of the Year) and did place Brandon Knight on the first team. He is the only UK player on the list, which again makes sense if Kanter doesnt play. If he does, he should join Knight as he would make Jeffrey Taylor cry tears of pain.
