So for a league that was much maligned by its critics and has been called one of the weakest of the Big 6, the SEC certainly showed up today. Huge win for Alabama against a good Marquette team and two of the favorites Tennessee and LSU, overcome legitimate upset bids by solid senior-laden teams. There are still two games to play tomorrow and it may be the case that few of these teams make the Sweet 16, but a great showing by the SEC.
Gonzaga almost got the upset they so richly deserved….but Adam Morrison certainly is clutch.
And the highest quality game of the day might have been UNC-Wilmington and George Washington….GW down 18 in the second half, goes on a 19-0 run, takes the lead…..Wilmington maintains their composure, sends it to overtime and then takes a 4 point lead with 90 seconds remaining….only to lose by 3. Great, great game.
