Saturday Night UK Basketball Golf Update

Have you ever wondered what Bobby Perry is doing when he is not competing in “Dance-Dance Revolution?” Well I can tell you that if it isnt playing basketball or running Barnstorming Tours, it is likely getting it done on the golf course. Today Bobby Perry, myself, the Turkey Hunter and Johnny “The” Bruce, hit the links at Valhalla in Louisville (which we were able to play thanks to a nice member of the course) to check out the surroundings for this year’s Ryder Cup and commence our golf tour of the state of Kentucky. This tour was the brainstorm of our man Woo, who when riding around the Wasioto Winds course in Pineville, Kentucky was made happy as the local golf pro played “On-On U of K” to Woo and Perry. We decided then that we must tour the state and get our golf rivalry on to settle the score. As a general rule, Bobby Perry is REALLY good, and the rest of us are not. This was played out today. Playing from the back tees at Valhalla (which is REALLY hard), here were the scores:

Bobby Perry 78
Johnny Bruce 90
Matt Jones 93
Turkey Hunter 100

Perry was on his game today and absent a few three-putts, would have closed around 75. Bruce was generally awful. I played a little worse than normal, but wasnt too upset. 450+ yard par fours are a lilttle much for me to score well. The Turkey Hunter was relatively inconsistent, but generally ok. It took me 3 to get out of a bunker on one hole and I cursed loudly, but otherwise maintained my composure. Valhalla is a hell of a course.….you get caddies (which I have never had), and that makes the experience much more enjoyable (and allows the players to walk the course without carrying our clubs). The course is in great condition and from the back tees (which we of course played just to say we did and to allow us to compete with the Ryder Cup pros this fall), it is long and tough. I loved it and will take the loss to Perry, who needed the positive reinforcement after his defeat in the Skins game at Wasioto Winds.

If any of you are at other good courses in the state, let us know as we are going to try to hit the best ones over the coming months. But until then, congrats to the dancing maniac Bobby Perry….and Turkey Hunter’s last place finish is as embarrassing as the fat chicks he attracts on a nightly basis.
