Saturday Morning Links

G’morning, friends.  That headache.  Ouch.  I can’t believe you did that last night.  Yes, you really did.  Stop trying to play it off.  We’re not going to let you live this one down.  Pour yourself a cup of coffee and get ready for the day.  You may not recognize the picture above – that’s because its from a new local band based out of Louisville called Houndmouth.  They are my very good friends and they’re about to do some pretty cool things.  Their music will be a nice way to start your morning while you read through the KSR links/backlog.  Give them a listen with this SoundCloud widget, and follow them on Facebook or Twitter if you enjoy. They’re next show is 2/11 at Zazoo’s in Louisville.

The Cats play against Alabama at Rupp at NOON on CBS.  LIVE BLOG at 11:45ish.  BE THERE.  Here’s a preview of the game from an Alabama newspaper that states that UK will be Bama’s biggest challenge yet.  I’d agree.

– The Courier-Journal thinks Bama’s defense will be a nice test for that sometimes frustrating UK offense.

– Hey, did you guys know Derek Willis committed to Kentucky?  And his dad just bought his FIRST Kentucky shirt ever last Sunday.

Anthony Davis’ blocks are fueling the defense – expect more today.

Coach Cal is trying to motivate Doron Lamb by using the bench.  Is it working?

– Jerry Tipton (*Tipton link alert*) says that Anthony Davis a fantastic listener.

– Give this nice profile of a Kentucky womens’ star a read: UK Hoops’ A’dia Mathies “isn’t an easy read, even for her family”.

Hey Chris, I really like the NBA roundup, is that going to be, and if not it should be, a daily KSR feature? (I am lazy and get tired of scrolling through the box scores to find this important info daily. Oh and thanks for fighting through your Saturday morning pain. BTW I always found that Mrs. Winners steak biscuits were the best hangover cure. And of course…… Leggooo Cats!

and on the Lamb/bench thing, I think Lamb should start with Darius coming off the bench. Doron has had some bad games coming off the bench. Darius seems comfortable with it.

The Derek Willis commit proves Cal’s point that we don’t recruit against Louisville. No contest. More accurately, Louisville CAN’T recruit against us. Sure fun to watch both our hits and their whiffs.

Guys, knowing the power of the BIG BLUE NATION on voting polls, I thought that I would try this. My army buddy that I served with overseas has a daughter. I am her godfather. They live in Worcester, Massachusetts. She is trying for some spot on a TV program there. I would appreciate anyone who would take the time to vote for her. Her name is Kayla Daly. You can just copy the link and place your vote. Thanks in advance for anyone who would take the time to do this. GO BIG BLUE.http://www.facebook.com/questions/174199872680703/

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far. She is now in second place.

7- Yea, Darius has really been comfortable with it. Not. Look at his horrid three-point percentage as opposed to last year. Darius must be starting. Also, I heard it from a relative of his that Darius was very unhappy with not starting.

22 – Perhaps if UL didn’t have their cash tied up in Family Planning clinics and therapy for the moronic fanbase, you might see a Top 50 recruit now and again.

    23. Yes we do. It’s called the NBA. And no place in America provides better exposure and is a true proving ground for the best of the best. So suck it.
