Rise and shine, Cats fans! It’s IU beatdown time! Make sure to eat a hearty breakfast while looking over these pregame links:
— Over in enemy territory, the Indy Star has an article about Indiana’s attempts to keep their fans from selling tickets to Kentucky fans. Good luck. #BlueGetsIn
— Larry Vaught has a nice piece about Marquis Teague and how Saturday’s game will test his continued development under Calipari.
— John Clay put together a gaggle of notes about today’s matchup.
— According to Jody Demling, 2013 PF Derek Willis will attend today’s game at Assembly Hall. If you’re up on your recruiting news, you’ll remember that Cal and Rick Pitino watched Willis play earlier this week. His list includes the Cats, the Cards, the Hoosiers and Purdue.
— The women’s volleyball team suffered a tough loss to Texas last night in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament. The ladies gave it their all, but ultimately fell to the number one ranked team in the nation, 3-1 in front of a crowd of over 4,000 at Memorial Coliseum.
— The AP’s got a story up about Cal’s comments about his future at Kentucky from yesterday.
— The Magic signed DeAndre Liggins, fellow draftee Justin Harper, and veterans Larry Hughes and Gabe Pruitt yesterday. The team has not disclosed the terms of the deal, but it’s likely that all four will receive non-guaranteed contracts and have to earn their spot on the roster during training camp. DeAndre will wear #34 in Orlando.
— Finally, enjoy this video from tiny Taylor University, where they engage in a tradition called “Silent Night,” in which students cheer like mad when the tenth point of the game is scored. Maybe they should try it at Assembly Hall today so the IU fans can feel good about themselves for a least a little bit.
More all day as we head towards game time. Are you ready?
