University of Kentucky Basketball, Football, and Recruiting news brought to you in the most ridiculous manner possible.

Saturday Gameday Links

-UK’s rebounding will be put to the test against Texas A&M.

-Andy Glockner thinks this will be a year where an 8 seed could make the Final Four.

Roy Williams has been “most visible” coach watching Andrew Wiggins. Probably just because he looks like Huckleberry Hound.

-Cal prepared for Vanderbilt by practicing against man defense “ten percent of the time,” and zone defense “the whole time”… which doesn’t even make sense.

Kentucky, UNC, and UCLA are all unranked and sorting things out for the first time in over twenty years.

-Going into Saturday’s game, the Cats aren’t competing like other people.

Would someone on the football team with a social life, show the football recruits around? Why are they in their hotel room watching basketball on a friday night in Lexington?

“UK has a lot of fans in all of the states we play,” Wiggins told Traylor. “I think most of the time I’m hearing from fans about them, but I’m going to go where is best for me to go.”

That doesn’t sound good. WTF happened to Wiggins? I thought he was a lock to come here.

I’ve been telling you hayseeds for years that Cal is a garbage coach unless he has 5 to 7 NBA players. He won last year because he had 2 future NBA all-stars and 4 other NBA players. He had 4 NIT’s while at Memphis, before uncle Wes started buying him players. Did Wes Get a Championship ring? I think he did. He has at least 5 burger boys on this team and they suck. Either he rolls it out there like last year or he acts like an idiot on the sideline like this year. You will eventually see the truth. Must be why he is tryiing to sign 6 or 7 studs for next year. He knows he needs more than 5 studs to overcome his AAU coaching style. A team out of Duke, Florida, Louisville or IU will likely win the title this year and they will do it with 3 and 4 year players. That is much more rewarding than doing it with players hand delivered to you for an 8 month stop.

    5) Wiggins wants 20 shots per game. Won’t get that here with all the talent we will have. He also is a low key and shy person. Does not like the spotlight.

#6, run back to your home board please. Nobody in their right mind thinks Cal is not a good coach. Excellent coach and great recruiter.

#7, if Wiggins wanted 20 shots per game he’d surely get them on his current team, but he isn’t. He’s a team player. Let him decide and if not UK then show some class and let him be.

UL trolling hard. Cal has a different style, but the NBA and NCAA are the ones allowing him to do it. And plenty of other schools have 1 and dones. Duke had Kyrie Irving and Austin Rivers. Ben McLemore will be 1 and done at Kansas. Can’t knock Cal for taking advantage of an opportunity.

I think UK will be much better next year. This year they don’t seem to have the fight or veteran leadership. Interested to see what happens to Harrow with the Twins coming in, though. Wiltjer will play a role similar to Miller if he becomes quicker and tougher.

6 if your really a realist you would see that for the past 3 years we have been one of the top basketball teams each year. Elite 8, final 4, then the NC. And yes we are down this year and maybe it could be said that we kinda suck, but as an actual realist i know that this is due to a young team with zero experience. Will they get it by the end of the year who knows, but the players who takes there bumps this year that come back and bring that experience of being on a down team mixed with next years talent we are gonnna be special. And the truth is you know this and are scared to death.

#7, you make no sense. You say he wants 20 points per game which equals superstar. Then you say he is shy and doesn’t want the spotlight. Which is it, sir? 30+ points per game will get him the spotlight anywhere.

so 6. since Dean Smith in 35 yrs only won 2 NC’s, one with Jordan, Perkins and Daugherty, and his other one because Webber called a time out, then I guess Smith just rolled the ball out there…..youre such an idiot you have to be a KSR plant just to stimulate hits

You realize that prior to UK Calipari only had 5 five star recruits……………EVER

People are stupid….D rose was only 5 star player on memphis team that lost in NC game….several 4 stars though

I love how people act like he has been having a hard time winning with the type of talent he gets at UK for years…….

    knowledge is power…..reading rainbow

Coach Cal is a great coach – forget Memphis and UK, just use UMass as exhibit A: Prior to his arrival in 1988 they had 10 losing seasons and hadn’t been to the NCAA tourney since 1962. In his 8-year run, he got them to several #1 AP rankings, a Sweet 16 in 1992 after only 4 years, Elite 8 in 1995, and Final Four in 1996, beating our Pitino-led national champion team on 11/28/95 to kick-off the season, which set up the rematch in the Final four.

Everyone that has followed Cal has said if he ever gets to a school where he can pull in high-level recruits he’ll dominate college basketball, not because he NEEDS the players, but because his coaching acumen combined with talent is a force to be reckoned with. The issue that’s driving him nuts this year is having to coach EFFORT and with a thin bench he has few options to overcome that. It’s thankfully an aberration because next year’s team should be extremely competitive and driven to win.
