Ryan Tydlacka to sign with Philadelphia Eagles (*Update: Sneed to Lions, Burden to Titans)

According to Ben Jones (@BW_Jones) of Kentucky Rivals, former UK punter Ryan Tydlacka will be signing a Free Agent deal with the Philadelphia Eagles. Tydlacka joins Winston Guy (Seattle Seahawks) and Danny Trevathan (Denver Broncos) as the third Kentucky football player to receive good news today. Kentucky football may struggle to keep pace with many of the SEC schools in a lot of categories, but we consistently have strong punters. Add Tydlacka to the list. Congratulations to Ryan Tydlacka.

**Update: Jones is also reporting that former UK middle linebacker Ronnie Sneed will be signing with the Detroit Lions.

**Update: Former Kentucky offensive tackle Chandler Burden will sign a Free Agent contract with the Tennessee Titans.

Anyone else ever notice what a horrible job Joker and his staff do at promoting their players and helping them get drafted? Every year, the best UK players…who are the ones making All-SEC, 2nd-Team, etc… get taken advantage of in the draft, by not getting any “interest”, until the money off the table. We’ve had guys who’ve played with the biggest and baddest of the SEC for 3-4 years…and held their own… yet their “not good enough” for real money contracts in the pros. Do you hear Joker and Co. speaking out/up, in defense of their guys…the same guys who hung around, and played for their loser coach and bled/sweated for him for years? Nope. You’d think a little Cal would have rubbed off on Joker by now, but sadly he’s as clueless as ever. Likewise, he won’t be giving the starting nod to the superior talent, in the form of a freshman, because he’s too old-school and too ignorant to understand how it’s possible to win with youth…you know, that’s unheard of around these parts.

I honestly don’t know why ANY kid with a decent amount of talent and athleticism, would bother giving UK a look, as long as Joker’s sorry ass is around. If Towles gets relegated to the pine, a la Tim Couch, he’d be a fool to stick around.

The Gators & Auburn only had 2 selected & Vols 1. Guess their coaches promote as bad as.Joker…..?

The NFL has may opportunities for these guys to be seen. Taking risks on tweeners is not what the NFL does well. The Joker criticism here is agenda driven or just plain ignorant. Or both.

That Joker comment is idiotic. If you don’t like him then that’s fine but don’t make up this garbage. The players were drafted where they were because that’s where they were supposed to be. NFL coaches and owners aren’t idiots and know where to draft people (usually). Take your stupid comments elsewhere.

And Burden isn’t better than Hines. But Hines and others decided against an NFL career. I’m surprised Burden got picked up. He won’t last long.
