Ryan Harrow out according to Vitale

According to Dick Vitale, Ryan Harrow will be out for tomorrow night’s game against Duke. The news seemed probable after hearing that Harrow once again was unable to practice with the team today. Calipari noted that Harrow was experiencing fatigue and they would be running blood tests to try to figure out the cause of it. Polsanity Vol. 2?
60 Comments for Ryan Harrow out according to Vitale
I got this! I’m the homewrecker!
Polson will get some minutes tomorrow no doubt, I look for Goodwin to start
at pg and Mayes to start in Harrows spot.
Less polson. More Goodwin. Not trying to be a hater. Just think Goodwin will decimate the duke defense.
Monospot for the win.
Sounds like Harrow may have mono, not a doctor but sounds like the same symptoms.
yeah, mono
maybe Cal can hide him
If he is that sick keep him away from the rest of the team until he gets better.
I dont care who plays when, just beat the hell outta the Dookies !!!
Would be nice if I didn’t have to enter my name and my email everytime I wanted to leave a comment, but anyways. Hope the kid gets better, Cats will need him.
Get better quick Ryan. This team is gonna need you.
So, earlier a troll brought to my attention that Harrow missed a big game against UNC back in 10-11 season.
I looked into it partially (because I have other stuff to do) and noticed that Harrow did in fact miss the game at Carolina, but was there physically, missed the next game against Virginia Tech, and the next game at Duke only played 15 minutes.
THIS COULD BE a coincidence, he could get ill often, or he could be emotionally immature and not “tough enough” in BCG terms. http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/team/schedule/_/id/152/year/2011/north-carolina-state-wolfpack
Kid has no heart. All ability no heart. You gotta suck it up and play
@13 dude you don’t know what he’s going through. He could be seriously ill for all we know. If he is still lacking energy now then he should definitely focus on getting healthy. It’s only the second game of the season.
Thanks for this thoughtful insight Mr. Creep. Are there perhaps more to come?
13 – Really? You know this how? No, I’m pretty sure he’s sick. You sound like Billy G and Darius. Is that you Clyde? Want a shot of red-eye with Dr Pepper?
Since Ryan is such ladies man lets hope it is not Mononucleosis (viral illness contracted by kissing), which could cause flu like symptoms and fatigue.
Who would you rather have, Harrow or Russ Smith for the tards? I ask this because Russ was a 2 star and Harrow a 5 star. I hate da ville, but russ is a baller and is fearless.
Guys Polson is a good player and will give us “gap” play. He runs the offense and gets it to the right guy, plays hard on D, and hustles. He is NOT the starter on a top 5 team game in and game out.
We need Harrow! We need Polson too, but we need Harrow to pull the mnajority of PG minutes.
Teams will start game planning on Polson and you will see him be less effective once that happens. I love the kid and want him to do well.
Hope it’s mono and not the Syph
Get Better Harrow. Play Hard and Smart Paulsen
Harrow isn’t sick or injured.
My friends from NC State have confirmed, Harrow will nurse something every big game. His best year was last year, on the bench. If Goodwin can learn to do more than drive and spin, or if J-Pol is for real, we have a shot. But, it won’t be on Harrow’s back.
Has mitchie hired bobby p yet? Get off yer duff dude!
What’s the over/under on charges taken/flops by the Dukies tomorrow?
This guy is a bigger pu$$y than Matt Jones!
I’m a nurse. I’ve had mono. Sounds like mono. Although could be some sort of anemia too.
Not playing… again? Seriously, I hope I’m wrong but I think this kid is a bust. It’s just that, everything about him rings with weakness. His voice, strength, height, emotions…. He looks like a miniature chihuahua out there trying to lead a pack or wolves. I just think mentally, he’s not all there.
Get well Ryan, hope you are feeling well soon.
He almost quit the team the other day.
27, Sickle Cell comes to mind when you mention anemia – hopefully not, for Ryan’s sake. Feel better soon, young man – the Cats need you!
Sounds exactly when I had mono, slept most of the day for over a month, zero energy.
Geesh, here we go with the peanut gallery of rumors and innuendo. Give the kid a break, people, and wait for the word from the blood tests before you pass judgement on the kid! This thread reflects both the bad and the good in the BBN – unfortunately the bad is rearing its ugly head more and more.
Tim Henderson > Harrow
I am a moron.
This guy LOVEsnthe girls. Definitely mono
Can’t believe so many people jumping to negative conclusions with so little evidence. With friends like that, Harrow doesn’t need enemies.
Oops
This guy LOVES the girls. Definitely mono
All those who say you have to suck it up and play on are the first ones asking out of a church league basketball game cause they’re ‘winded’.
You people who make these judgments are jerks. Some college kids get sick a lot. I saw a post questioning him because he was sick for a week two years ago. What?!?! At these kids ages they are prime to have major infections as their immune systems are still developing and are not able to fight off things they haven’t been exposed to before. No reason to not trust the kid. If he’s sick, he’s sick. Get well Ryan! We need you man!
Man, give Ryan a freakin break guys.. Next month y’all are gonna love him. In the mean time, SHUT UP WITH ALL THE COMPLAINING… He’s human, geez!
But Cal did say “UK is not for everyone.”
All these people saying he’s faking can suck it.. You guys are ridiculous!!
He stubbed me 2 weeks ago, i may miss the following game as well to recuperate.
LMAO at all the Cards fans acting like UK fans, just don’t engage them people
No Negative comments for our own players, brother! We will be fine and Harrow will be a heck of player for UK.
Cal swung and missed on this one. He will be a bench jockey next year.
This is just another example of an unhealthy mindset of the modern UK fan.
I love seeing Polson get a chance he’s worked hard for – but I hate seeing how fans are jumping on Harrow – who truly may be sick. Give the kid the benefit of the doubt and root on Polson who is getting his shot.
Duke will win tomorrow night- whether therre’s a healthy Harrow or not. Duke has talent and experience. UK is based solely on untested raw talent. At the end of the year – UK may be gel and be at team that could challenge – but for now – these are kids who a few months ago were excelling against high school kids who will never play basketball except at the local YMCA or in church league.
Welcome to big-time college basketball boys. Now – UK fans need to have a little patience and not expect too much. Of course – Cal should have recruited a few more 3-4 year type players to fill in the gap.
@33 – certainly we have our fair share of idiots in the fan base but it’s impossible to know for sure who’s really a UK “fan” just being an ass and who’s trolling from their parent’s basement in downtown Louisville
Same people were screaming their heads off about how Wiltjer wasn’t any good and didn’t improve at all… after one game they love him again.
There’s a lot of fake UK fans on here but I know that some real UK fans are pretty flaky too. One bad game and you’re a bum, one great game and you’re a legend. There’s zero in between.
I hope he gets better soon for his sake and UK’s. Go CATS!!
#48 I like your perspective and even agree with a few of your points, but I am not going to give Duke credit, until they deserve it. Yes they have experience, but we are still more athletic than them. They have no one who can check Archie. If we rebound the ball and keep our turnovers down, we have just as good of odds to win the game. Duke ain’t shit and I will eat crow of they wax us, but it ain’t happening!
#48 Cal should have recruited a few more 3-4 year type players to fill in the gap….yeah good call, Cal was an idiot for winning the title last year…moron.
If he has mono, he needs to rest so he can recover quickly without relapse. I was bedridden practically for a month in high school. Apparently mono can cause your spleen to burst, and my doctor didn’t want me taking chances.
And the “kissing disease” can be gotten from even sharing a water bottle in practice.
Go J-Pol just play your game and you will be fine. I love Harrow, but I think Jarrod is ahead of him in understanding the offense, regardless of whether he has a cold or not. Jarrod just seems to understand the flow of things better.
– it’s fine to criticize our team. This isn’t the national defense, it’s basketball. If harrow reads the comments, and lets them impact his feelings, as some of you suggest, he’s crazier than you are.
– given the track record at nc state and now this, the guy is officially soft, till he grows up and proves otherwise. You can’t wimp out of every big game so far, and not create a presumption. He needs to prove he can lead instead of cry.
– duke will win, it’s not the end of the world. Like Indiana last year, I’ll take the lesson in the regular season, and get revenge in the tourney.
– Noel’s got something to prove too. You don’t have to be Davis, or Cousins, but you gotta bring it like you are the no 1 recruit on the returning national champion. Some level of tenacity would be nice. Being pushed around by a big Ukranian was not an admirable start. To not show any fire in his belly was a shame. They played like they thought their ranking would win for them, not their hard work (except for Mays, Polson, and Wiltjer).
– expectations go with the territory. Being critical doesn’t mean you’re in a basement in Louisville. It means we Know what it takes to win, and know it wasn’t there. You don’t hang 8 banners by being satisfied with mediocre play.
Money says we win the boards tomorrow. And I hope that Ryan remembers all you trolls comments’ come next month! Get well soon!
There ya’ll go – second guessing Coach Cal again. I gave that up a couple of seasons ago. Seems he knows more than I do. lol
I told you guys about Harrow since last summer. This guy will get sick for every big game. Think of it like this– he’s had 4 big games so far in his career (@UNC, vs Duke, vs MD, vs Duke)… He has not played in 2 of them, and played 15min or less in the other two. All four he was “sick” for… Not saying he is faking it, it could be a mental thing that is genuinely affecting his body and energy level. But I just think this kid is mentally weak, sick or not.
Huge +1 to #26 to start off. Love to see Jones out when I’m hammered downtown the outcome would be featured on here. Now I’m in full agreement with #59 as well. Guy has no heart, I thought Teague was horrible last year but he looks like D-Rose compared to this guy. Kid puts his head down and sulks and doesn’t play ball and he’s going to cost the team this season in doing so. Calling it now.
