Rock Oliver will stay at UK

Don’t worry, folks.  Rock Oliver isn’t going anywhere.  Despite a job posting for “Football Performance Coordintor” on UK’s website today, The Rock will remain with UK Athletics.  UK spokesperson Tony Neely told CatsIllustrated.com that Oliver will remain with UK Athletics, but his role going forward and which sport he will work with has not been determined.

I know where he’ll be at 7:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

I am a diehard Bengals fan and I can tell you that Rock Oliver is a great strength and conditioning coach. When he left the Bengals for the Wildcats, a bunch of former Bengals players came out and said it would be a huge loss for the Bengals organization. There was a consensus that he was one of the best Strength and Conditioning coaches in the NFL.

One of the main reasons he went to work for Kentucky was because he had a history of working with Calipari, both at Memphis and with the New Jersey Nets. My guess is he will be working full time with the basketball team. This would be great news for Kentucky basketball fans.

Rock is the man !! Our problems in football & so far this year in basketball aren’t Rock fault. Even when UK BB Pros were in town during the lock out, they loved him especially Naz. He got Mashburn in shape when he came to UK, making him throw up during workouts.

UK was soft and not conditioned well. Send this one along the road with the others. CLEAN THE HOUSE. Fumigate the offices.

I am sooooo over Mr. OLiver. Football team keeps getting softer, now follower that up where we stand in basketball. Somebody please find his real first name, and lets use that in the future, cause he has ridden that tough name out when his results SUCK.

Rock is a great strength and conditioning coach, to get rid of him would be costly. Athletics is a big deal at UK, and he could be getting pulled into too many directions. I say keep him, but give him more help.

Probably just movin over to basketball since he most likely came to Lexington because of Cal anyways. Good for him.

Oliver has this reputation as a great strength coach, but I sure didn’t see the results in UK football. Maybe he can get it done with the basketball team. Maybe.
