In what’s been a pretty good weekly column, Rivals does a weekly “roundtable” where writers give their views on the week’s hot topic. This week, of course, they are discussing the rumors swirling around Coach Cal’s reported interest in the vacancy in Chicago. While other views were discussed, Steve Magargee captures my feelings in a nutshell-
While it wouldn’t shock me to see Calipari on the Bulls’ bench next season, it still seems like little more than a remote possibility. I believe Calipari wants the national title that’s eluded him thus far in his career, and he knows he will always have a realistic shot at that prize as long as he remains at Kentucky.
And while the article doesn’t mention it, Chicago papers have been reporting lately that some of the top candidates are Kevin McHale, Lawrence Frank, Dwane Casey and Mo Cheeks. They also report Calipari is nothing more than speculation at this point.
