If you thought your Monday morning was bad, at least you’re not Richie Farmer. Moments ago, Farmer was indicted by a grand jury on five counts: four federal counts of misappropriating property/funds, and one count of soliciting property. The charges stem from Richie’s misconduct during his time as Agriculture Commissioner in which he was alleged to have abused authority, using government funds to obtain rifles, clothing, hotel rooms, computer equipment and home appliances for himself, friends and family.
Richie will face up to ten years in prison and over a million dollars in fines. He will be arraigned on April 30th.
