Richie Farmer indicted on federal charges

richie-farmer-traffic-jam

If you thought your Monday morning was bad, at least you’re not Richie Farmer. Moments ago, Farmer was indicted by a grand jury on five counts: four federal counts of misappropriating property/funds, and one count of soliciting property. The charges stem from Richie’s misconduct during his time as Agriculture Commissioner in which he was alleged to have abused authority, using government funds to obtain rifles, clothing, hotel rooms, computer equipment and home appliances for himself, friends and family.

Richie will face up to ten years in prison and over a million dollars in fines. He will be arraigned on April 30th.

Yet there are still people who support him and say he did no wrong…but he didn’t hurt no one! And those people are deaf, dumb and blind.

Cat or No Cat. If he is guilty send him to the pen. I am sick and tired of the political corruption in the this state and country.

If he is sentenced to prison….would he be in the State Pen or would it be a Federal Pen since they are federal counts?

    7. Unfortunately the powers that be in this state are only sick and tired of the REPUBLICAN corruption in this state. I was close to several people in Paul “Uncle Paul” Patton’s administration. The level of corruption in his admin was just as bad but since he was a Democrat nothing happened. The Democrats have a stranglehold on local government and they don’t want to lose it so any time a Republican is elected to state office they pounce.

After hearing this and the stories circulating frankfort, its crazy. Everytime I talked to him he was nice and friendly as could be. Just goes to show that public face and private face are two completely different things for some people.

Just on the way Richie Farmer behaved while barnstorming with the Unforgettables years ago, he ought to be in prison. Treating fans like trash. Hitting on underage girls. Drunken. This is NOT a good person.

#11- Federal prison, probably easy time.

#15- Not everything is politics, and in this case you are also dead wrong. Do a google search for “Boptrot” you will see that the Feds couldn’t care less which party you are in when they pounce.

Richie’s problems were too overt and when they became public, the Feds (who were not investigating Richie to public knowledge) really had no choice but to investigate. Moral of the story is don’t steal when you are in public office- but the other morale is- if you do steal- do it quietly…

21–that was over 20 years ago. I was referring specifically to Paul Patton’s administration. He was called “Uncle Paul” because of the political patronage to unqualified employees in key positions. It was common knowledge in Frankfort and yet nothing was said about it.

The Feds were the ones involved in Boptrot, not the Kentucky AG.

Federal time will not be easy time…unlike a state pen, if it’s federal he’ll actually have to serve more than 80 percent of his sentence before being able for parole. Sucks for him.

25- I’m talking from a person who knows a bit about criminal law in this state- trust me when I tell you that if you are sent to federal prison as the result of a “white collar” crime, the time can be easy. But its all relative. I wasn’t talking about the length of the prison time he might serve.
