It is nice to know that you have a coach who statistically is in a place where no other coach in the land is….a coach who, when you talk to other team’s fans, you can say “your coach has not done what my coach has done.” Such is the case for Kentucky with our man, Rich Brooks.
A blog has recently uncovered that our man Brooks is one of only two coaches in college football to have LOST 100 games and STILL have an overall losing record. The other is of course, the coach at UAB….which is good football company to be in.
The folks at said blog make the point that it is not really amazing for a coach like Bowden or Paterno to make the list as they have also won a lot of games. For them, it is like Cy Young who holds the record for wins and losses in major league baseball. But for guys like Brooks (whose career record is 100-134-4), to have such a resume and still be coaching is quite an accomplishment.
