Results are in for Latest AP Poll

Not that it matters at this point, but Kentucky received five votes in the new AP Poll released today. Gonzaga remains No. 1 and Florida dropped a few spots after their loss to the Cats.

More important to note are the rankings of Kentucky’s opponents:

No. 2 Duke

No. 4 Louisville

No. 13 Florida (2 games)

No. 24 Notre Dame

Duke, Indiana, Gonzaga and Louisville are Joe Lunardi’s updated No. 1 Seeds.

Also, congrats to UK baseball for its No. 10 ranking in the latest Coaches’ Poll. The Bat Cats were one of seven ranked SEC teams this week after taking two out of three games from Michigan State. In addition, UK Hoops is now ranked No. 7 by the AP after falling to Texas A&M in the SEC title game.

5 votes for the Cats? I wonder if they win the SEC tournament if they could actually break into the Top 25?

3 of Lunardi’s #1 seeds won’t make it to the Final Four. Dook is the only one. IU & UofL get to go home and brag to UK fans about how they had a better regular season than us. We’ll just watch 2012 One Shining Moment.

Not a Cards fan but I watch a lot of basketball. The Cards are looking very good and appear to be peaking at the right time.Pitino has built this team to win it all. Now or never for the Cards under Pitino. Indiana has already peaked and won’t make it to final 4 (Coach is a head case). Don’t count Gongzaga out. They have the best offense I have seen and they are very smart and efficient. Duke is legit now that all players are healthy.

Three that I don’t want as champion: Puke, Loserville, & that head case’s Indiana team. Anyone else….please win it.

9, I don’t really want to see Kansas or UNC win another one either. Go Zags, and Go Cats!

I really don’t want to see IU win one. It would be entertaining if they don’t make the Final Four to watch the antics of Clappy the Clown as the pressure builds on him to win the big one. If they fall short this year, I wonder what excuse they will find next year to issue new rings, popcorn boxes, phone books and net cutting ceremonies?

I’m gonna root for Gonzaga or Miami. Would love for them to win it all. Just please, none of our hated rivals, as Ridge Runner has amply listed.

I noticed Louisville was 3 – 3 vs top 25…then I looked, they’ve beat Memphis, Syracuse, and Marquette. Those are Top 25 teams? Really?

IU, is who we need to be worried about the cards cant win just shooting threes and with Siva.IU and Duke in the final game, almost makes me sick but watch out for Miami.

uofl is NOT as good as everyone is saying (the ones that are saying it). After the BigLeast tournament is over, so is uofl’s ability to smack, grab, hold and punch without a ref blowing a whistle. That team has too many mental midgets to win it all (see behannon, siva, and smith). Speaking of smith, prior to him, name one other pitino player over the years that was allowed that long of a leash to do stupid thing after stupid thing.

What about me? My team is quietly sitting at No. 8 with no really bad losses all year. Haven’t we done this a time or two before?
