REMINDER: Its time to enter. Only two ladies have thus far entered, although 75 other men have. Now is the time if you want in…tomorrow at 5 pm is the deadline!
It is that time of year again. Time for the Second Annual KSR WHO WANTS TO BE A BLOGGER contest. Last year we had over 100 entrants, knocked the field down to 15 and ended up with Hunter Campbell as our winner and new KSR poster. Hunter has done a great job and is back this year to help judge the new edition. In fact, the judging now looks like a who’s who of the blogger world:
That is like the 2004 Kansas City Royals of blogging stardom. If you would like to join the KSR team, this is the method to make it happen. What do you get in return? Very little, but you do get to have over 150,000 readers a day read your writing and the chance to get your thoughts on UK sports to the masses. There are worse fates.
To enter, we need four things by FRIDAY JUNE 26 at 5 PM:
1. Name, city, phone number, email, age, gender, occupation…the basics.
2. A paragraph on why you want to write for KSR and what you think you bring to the table. Your history of reading the site and what you like about it is also relevant.
3. Your schedule and when you would be available to write articles and what you specifically would like to write about.
4. 750 WORDS OR LESS on one of these three topics:
(a) Favorite Obscure Kentucky Player and Why
(b) Best UK Football Personal Experience
(c) Prediction as to the Future of Billy Gillispie
Those are three random topics, but they get at what we are really looking for here. I cant stress this enough. We judge on four criteria:
And honestly, it really is in that order. We arent looking for the next Billy Packer here…we want someone who can entertain, inform and has the voice that this site prides itself in. We will once again pick 12 finalists, and American Idol them down (although in a bit different way than last year) until we pick this year’s Ruben Studdard to last year’s Hunter “Kelly Clarkson” Campbell. All entries must be sent to:
[email protected] by Friday at 5 pm.
Good luck! We cant wait to see what you folks come up with.
