My first UK game my freshman year. Sitting in the lower level and seeing people get knocked out by flying bourbon bottels. This is classic heart break.

Never in my lifetime, nor any college athlete’s lifetime, has Kentucky beaten Florida or Tennessee in football. I don’t really understand why we suffer through mediocrity. Over the years I’ve heard the excuses such as lack of recruiting pool and worse facilities than the competition. But other schools can still have “some” success, if even once in a decade. I understand basketball comes first, I feel the same way. But we should have some pride in our football team. We are the joke of the SEC, and I don’t really find the joke funny any more.

at least we won’t have to worry about a last second loss this time. I am a fan but also a realist, this game will be a blowout and over by halftime.
Hope the CATS can prove me wrong and I will come on and apologize.
On this video I can’t decide which game hurts me most, losing this one to uf or the lsu hail mary loss. I lean towards the lsu loss but this game had the hated stevie boy coaching uf.
    well both sucked.

It is really frickin’ sad when we have to look at last second losses to cheer us up because it’s gonna be over after the first quarter tomorrow.

I was there too, junior year. Nearly numb and mostly blinded by bourbon, I remember seeing Doering catch that ball. After this game, I vowed to myself not to waste any more time or money attending games until we stop accepting BAD football. I was one year away from thinking the mentality had changed, and Brooks retired. 18 years and still waiting.

Even if I didn’t already know the outcome, when I heard, “…given Kentucky a 20-17 lead. One minute, twenty-three seconds left to play in the game…” I knew how the game would end.

I am a basketball fan first, but, to me, when UK is half decent in football, which anymore is every 5-10 yrs maybe,it is awesome!!! I love how the UL fans, here in louisville, anyway, are pushing to go to the Big 12 like they will compete. Sorry to disappoint but they will be bottom half of that league, even with Charlie “i’m the greatest” Strong!

We took a delay of game penalty on the one yard line and settled for a field goal. Curry was notorious for getting plays in late and Pookie didn’t call a timeout. We had one or two left, IIRC.

Why does that clueless look on Curry’s face look oh-so familiar? Will we see it tomorrow?

One thing that really sticks out to me is how unathletic the UF skill players look. Wish that were the case tomorrow. Dont see how we can pull it off but i still support joker and the team 100% hes bringing in the type of athletes UK is unaccustomed to getting. And as all coaches u win with great players first, coaching second

I was in the stands when we J-LO choked a 21 pt 4th quarter lead away. I wanted to choke my freakin self out. I was a sophomore at UK at the time.

10 that was actually a very good deffensive team. They had four ints that day a several players went on to play in the NFL! That was just one busted coverage. We lost that game buy not giving the ball to Damon Hood on 4th and 1 when he had been averaging what seemed like 5 yards a carry!!!

Drew, thanks for being the UKAA’s best friend and consistently playing down the football program. We somehow have the whole state of KY convinced that basketball is actually the sport that matters in college athletics. He, he, he. I know you won’t, but just a reminder not to do this for the Duke buzzer beater against us when March rolls around. We can’t have people thinking that we’ve never had terrible losses in baskeeetbawl.
