#4, good job. Glad to see you guys finally found some semblance of relevance in your entire existence through 2 mid-season baseball games. Really. Kudos on that. What a major, major accomplishment. Will the UL baseball team now be featured in the Pegasus Parade? They really should be for accomplishing such a daunting feat of winning 2 regular season games. It truly is unbelievable. I am still in awe of UL’s mid-week dominance on the baseball diamond. Did you catch the highlights of that game on SC last night?

I’d trade every other sport’s relevancy (sans basketball) for a single modern-era FB title and that single title, alone, would do more good for UK than winning 5 Capitol One Cups.

Kentucky is at a disadvantage in sports like baseball and football because the state lacks urban area. In basketball, you can convince 8 to 10 great players to come to your program and you’re set to compete with anyone. There aren’t enough talented athletes in the state for Kentucky to have sustained success in those sports. Urban area dictates a lot of success in college athletics.

The aluminum bat now has to be BBCOR certified. Layman’s terms is that it is close to wood that you can get. Those bats don’t have the trampoline effect like the old bats. College baseball is more like baseball these days because of the new bats.

Why does the Louisville think its the most important city in the world? It may be the main economic engine in the state but Kentucky is a not a big state. Its like a kid boasting about being the best biggest player on a small high school football team. Congrats, but you can’t match up to the cities on each coast. The US economy would not lose much sleep if it lost Louisville.

Speaking of money, looks like Cal spent all of his last year. Must have paid that team a huge bonus for last season. It’s a sad day in Kentucky when Cal is whiffing on these no star recruits! But it is a great day in Da’Ville! We are all chopping at the bit to get another shot at UK at the YUM center this season. It will be like the Globetrotters vs the Generals. I am betting UK doesn’t even score 40 points!

256- They use aluminum instead of wood because wood breaks more than aluminum. So that drives up the cost. Aluminum bats do break but nowhere near as often as wood does.
