Matt, what about the on the ball defense of WCS last night? Did he once bite on a ball fake?! Impressive!
Didn’t get a chance to listen to post game show, so I apologize if this was discussed. Does our defense need a lot of work? Looks like we were lost on matchups and switches, left guys wide open, and fell for a lot of ball and head fakes. I know it’s their first game, but hoping we get better faster.

Cal’s ability to put young kids together and put them in a position and an offense they can succeed at is unbelievable. The kids he gets are crazy talented but how he figures out how to use them effectively so fast is unbelievable.

4 — I thought they looked very good defensively at times, and very bad at others. I’m not worried about that at all though because defense can be taught by a good coach and Cal has proven year in and year out that his teams “D up”. It’s harder to teach good offense and this team can score the ball. I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to shoot from a variety of guys. If they can shoot the trey’s like they showed then we will be very hard to stop.

Can anybody address the lack of IHeart radio feeds and why we can’t get the games or pre and post games shows. I work at one of Louisville’s largest employers and literally hundreds of people were left without a means to listen to the game . Regular radio does not work.I hope Matt can find us an answer.

When the game is played on your home field it is not a neutral site game. Ryan did nothing wrong. I applauded him for showing some restraint and not telling them where to stick it.

Typically you coach in middle school, you stay in middle school.

I could see where some of our parents got upset but the way they handled it wasn’t the way they should’ve handled it. They crossed the line. If they had a problem with it, then they should have told the proper authorities. Not cussing and hollaring and making a scene. It’s middle school football for crying out loud. Geez!
Some of these parents are crazy at these middle school games. A few of them are always looking for someone to blame if their kid’s team is losing. As a referee myself, I have often been the subject of the blame for a loss and I hear about from screaming parents. Sometimes these people seem to lose their minds and they become downright mean.
LTMS students have today off but need to be ready for a full film session day tomorrow…coordinators are breaking it down now.

283 — He played 23 minutes last night and I don’t know if he’ll be able to get near that many in a close game. I probably underestimated how many minutes he’ll play in the previous post, but I’d think a 15 minutes average is a good estimate.
291 – That is a result of UK’s contract with IMG. All of the official broadcasts are not supposed to be streamed by WLAP or WHAS on IHeart. For some technical reason they can’t completely cut it off so they turn it down so low you can’t hear it. You have to go to UKAthletics.com to normally get the official pre and post game broadcasts. To get Matt’s earlier and later shows you can get them on IHeart.
283 — I just think the six men who Cal will rely on most is Noel, Cauley-Stein, Mays, Goodwin, Poythress, and Harrow. I think Kyle will get to play but not as much as those six do.

294 – I think Kyle is a very smart kid and will grow a lot this year. He is the type of player who will have to use his head more than the average kid to be an effective defensive player and I think he will learn to do that.

Kyle wiltjer is one of the better players in the country every body has a weak spot in their game just because he doesn’t play the defense in world but if he rebounds better and shoots like he does he will be fine.
I actually think we could get Congress to agree that Wiltjer couldn’t guard a loaf of bread.. Kyle Wiltjer bringing parties together since 2012.
