Didn’t get a chance to listen to post game show, so I apologize if this was discussed. Does our defense need a lot of work? Looks like we were lost on matchups and switches, left guys wide open, and fell for a lot of ball and head fakes. I know it’s their first game, but hoping we get better faster.

Cal’s ability to put young kids together and put them in a position and an offense they can succeed at is unbelievable. The kids he gets are crazy talented but how he figures out how to use them effectively so fast is unbelievable.

4 — I thought they looked very good defensively at times, and very bad at others. I’m not worried about that at all though because defense can be taught by a good coach and Cal has proven year in and year out that his teams “D up”. It’s harder to teach good offense and this team can score the ball. I was pleasantly surprised by the ability to shoot from a variety of guys. If they can shoot the trey’s like they showed then we will be very hard to stop.

    Your Catholic Correspondant:

In Western Christianity, All Souls’ Day is observed principally in the Catholic Church, although some churches of Anglican Communion and the Old Catholic Churches also celebrate it. The Eastern Orthodox Church observes several All Souls’ Days during the year. The Roman Catholic celebration is associated with the doctrine that the souls of the faithful who at death have not been cleansed from the temporal punishment due to venial sins and from attachment to mortal sins cannot immediately attain the beatific vision in heaven, and that they may be helped to do so by prayer and by the sacrifice of the Mass.[1] In other words, when they died, they had not yet attained full sanctification and moral perfection, a requirement for entrance into Heaven. This sanctification is carried out posthumously in Purgatory.

The official name of the celebration in the Roman Rite liturgy of the Roman Catholic Church is “The Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed”.[1] Another popular name in English is Feast of All Souls. In some other languages the celebration, not necessarily on the same date, is known as Day of the Dead.

All Saints Day (a holy day of obligation in the Catholic Church) recognizes all of the saints in heaven that the rest of us are trying to imitate. All Souls Day, we are to offer prayers for all of the others who may not have been so “saintly.” Halloween is actually All Saints Day eve. The breakd down of the word is “All Hallows Eve,” or the eve of all that is hallowed, or holy. Halloween is a derivative of All Hallows Eve.

So at the store the lady in front of me had 2 kids. Both Kids had the new Jordan’s. The lady had new nails, big gold braclets and had the new IPhone5. She had $240 worth of groceries and paid with an EBT (Food Stamp) card!

Is this Obama’s plan of “Moving Forward?”

283 — He played 23 minutes last night and I don’t know if he’ll be able to get near that many in a close game. I probably underestimated how many minutes he’ll play in the previous post, but I’d think a 15 minutes average is a good estimate.

  292. Linda Taylor
    11:33 am November 2, 2012 Permalink

291 – That is a result of UK’s contract with IMG. All of the official broadcasts are not supposed to be streamed by WLAP or WHAS on IHeart. For some technical reason they can’t completely cut it off so they turn it down so low you can’t hear it. You have to go to UKAthletics.com to normally get the official pre and post game broadcasts. To get Matt’s earlier and later shows you can get them on IHeart.

294 – That means that Noel or CS would be playing the whole game. I think 20 – 24 minutes per game is more realistic. His D,or lack there of will not get him benched because there isn’t a good defender that he is competing with that has his offensive skill set. It will be a 7 man rotation
