Recapping The Afternoon Games

The Martin Luther King holiday meant an afternoon slate of basketball games during regular office hours — when we’d normally be working. The Spalding Hoop Hall Classic is winding down in Massachusettes and the NBA got off to an earlier start on Monday.

Here are a few notable stat lines from the day games.

———————-

John Wall

Wall scored a career-high 38 points with six rebounds, eight assists, and four steals. The Wizards lost, of course.

Houston 114, Washington 106

Josh “Big Nasty” Harrellson

Big Nasty scored 8 points (2-3 on three-pointers) and grabbed two rebounds in 13 minutes for the Knicks.

Orlando 102, New York 93

Jodie Meeks

Meeks scored 9 points in 30 minutes for the Sixers.

Philadelphia 94, Milwaukee 82

Shabazz Muhammad

Shabazz scored 37 points on 12-of-22 shooting, including this dunk to end the game…

Bishop Gorman 73, DeMatha 65

Anthony Bennett

Bennett did not play for Findlay Prep today. He is nursing a bad back that’s been bothering him since last month.

Jabari Parker

The No. 1 player in 2013 scored 24 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the losing effort to Findlay.

Findlay Prep 75, Simeon 50

Tony Parker

The 6-foot-9, 250-pound senior scored six points and grabbed five rebounds in the first game of the final day in the Hoop Hall Classic. His team fell to UCLA commit Kyle Anderson’s St. Anthony.

St. Anthony 60, Miller Grove 48

Louisville

The Cards jumped out to an 18-2 lead on Marquette but trailed by 4 at the half.

Any KSR readers flying united before end of January?
I have 4 systemwide upgrades I won’t use and would be happy to share.
Free upgrades are never a bad thing.

I’m flying to Brazil on Sunday on United. I came up short of 1K status in 2011, so I really miss those system wide upgrades.

UL last in BE(16th), 21st in nation.

Perfect example of east coast media bias

Joker [email protected] his pants in recruiting again. Ace Whales just visited here over the weekend and committed to uofl today. Uofl got another rb out of Miami today as well. Joker should just quit. What a loser.

    12) I agree. Strong is killing Joker. The Joke should just stop recruting players head to head with Strong.

Close the bridges… UofL message boards show that they are all depressed. They even go as far as to say that UK should be worried because we didn’t beat them as bad as other teams are beating them… seriously! Bwahahaha… still talking s*** when they can’t win a game.

    Deacon,
Ricky P. was on 790am Card Radio.
He essentially said that his team lost because of the disparity in free throws. Loserville is just pitiful. I almost feel sorry for them…but not quite 🙂

UofL lost by 11 points, and only shot 8 less free throws. Give it up Rick.
