Reading Willie’s tweet leaves

Last night, I wrote about Willie Cauley-Stein teasing UK fans on Twitter about staying and “gettin’ that ring.” The saga of Willie and the tweets continues, with Willie changing his Twitter handle from “@WCS15timefor9” to “@TrillWill15” and sending out the following tweet late last night:
3 yrs ago i would think about all the 18 and 19 yr old millionaires and be like dang that’s that life! Now I’m like wow that could be me!
— ☆TheFr3shPrinc3☆ (@TrillWill15) March 28, 2013
Prior to that, Willie tweeted thanks to all of his supporters and said that sometimes he has to remind himself that he’s only 19. Much atweet about nothing or is Willie trying to tell us something?
UPDATE: Willie’s on a roll this morning.
It’s funny when people tweet me Alex and Archie bout the d league like 3 of the players from the national title didn’t go there this year

121 Comments for Reading Willie’s tweet leaves
He gone.
I would like Willie to stay, but I have this feeling that I will be cheering for him in the NBA now. 🙁
Daniel Orton 2.0?
Gone
Just leave dude. That is, if you want to ride pine for a very long time. While you have the size and athleticism, your game isn’t anywhere close to being able to play at that level.
How is he Daniel Orton 2.0? He is projected as a lottery pick and he actually played well. Plus he hasn’t stopped going to class. You may not want him to go pro but he played hard and did everthing he was supposed to do.
You all read WAYYYY too much in to everything. He is a 19 year old tweeting.
See Ya!

Willie is not projected as a lottery pick. 1st round yes.
As in we may not ever see him play… Have you ever watched an NBA game? Dude is going to get straight up mopped.
None of these tweets surprise me. From the beginning of, WCS hasn’t been the “normal” college kid were used too. He likes the attention of being asked to stay and is using this attention is an odd way. I like Willie, but think he is not mature enough to handle the situation he is in. Hope he stays, because next years class would be unbelievable, but I don’t like the way he is handling the situation of staying or leaving.
http://www.nbadraft.net/ 13th pick
If he wants less attention and speculation from the “crazy” Wildcat fans maybe he should stop tweeting out teasers…just saying…
I’m not going anywhere. I just like to say things on twitter because I know KSR will put it up and geek about it. I just like the attention.
i think willie is seeing $$ signs. i don’t blame him. 19 years old and looking at a potential mil+ contract. go for it. if he has a good advisor he can set himself up for life with one contract
WCS Vs. Robert Morris: 9 pts 4 rebs 1 block 4 turnovers. Balllllllllllllllllllllllllllin’
This is crazy. If I watched game film from every one of his games the last thing I’m thinking is NBA. He didnt dominate one game. If you can’t dominate one game on the weak SEC how do you go tk the NBA in the first round.
He may very well go and try to develop in the league.
But I think he knows alot of people are watching, based on his previous tweet that Kentucky fans are going nuts wondering whos staying and whos going.
I think he is messing with us on purpose.
Never though WCS would be a one a doner, it is possible, but if you told me this years team would have gone to the NIT, lost in the first round to Robert freaking Morris and 3-4 of our players were talking about the NBA, even our backup center, I would have cracked up.
I would like to see them back obviously! They need another year to learn how to win.
Fine get out of here, if you have to think about it that much then we don’t want you, seriously. We’re trying to win a championship and if you want to turn your back on that, when you know you aren’t ready to leave, then get on outta here.
9. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft/prospect-rankings – 14th pick
UK fans are a joke! Y’all called these guys every name in the book when things were going bad…then at the end of the season, you take out an ad saying “we appreciate y’all, please stay” nonsense…only reason you want them to stay is that your new super class will have somebody to practice against…so that that “greatest of all time” class doesn’t end up like this 2012-2013 group…pathetic.
I think you guys are forgetting something very important. This monster posted 8 pts 6 boards and shot 37% from the free-throw line for a team that lost in the first round of the NIT to Robert Morris. He can’t risk having a down year. I mean, he’s at the pinnacle of the college game
Willie is big, strong, and athletic…..and so is everyone else in the league. He won’t be able to guard or score at that level. He could use more development, but I think he is gone. He is cashing in quick instead of being patient and securing a career in the league.
People act like just because you played on a bad team you cant be an NBA player. Billy Gillispe’s 2009 NIT team had 5 future NBA players on it. (Harrelson, Liggins, Meeks, Patterson, Miller)
Noel, WCS, Goodwin, and even Poythress are all projected 1st rounders…if I were them, i’d leave to…take the millions vs. putting up with Big Toothless Nation for another year?? yeah, easy answer.
#3, came here to say this.
Hope he enjoys the D-League and Europe.
It’s the Kentucky Effect, if he went to another school would he really be thought of as a lottery pick? Thats what kids see… The same with Archie and Alex, they are still thought of as 1st rounders because they played for Cal..
I don’t blame WCS for wanting to make millions, let’s face it; to make millions at 19 years old even if he ends up in the D league, come on. I would love to make millions no matter what league I play in. Let’s support WCS in whatever he chooses to do !
Go Big Blue ! ! !
I have never been impressed with this kid. I have always felt he was one of the main problems. A very average player with lousy attitude. Do not be surprised when he drops to the second round. Individual tryouts will expose so many weaknesses.
Let him go. He is a drama queen that loves the attention. I would like to have him back, but go make your millions. We have plenty more in the pantry, no need for begging.
24. WOW THATS A REDICULOUS STAT
#25 Go back to your troll hole called the Yum Center.
31 – yeah, but Meeks was the only one that didn’t spend at least a season under Cal before going to the NBA.
I don’t mind if he goes, because I’m tired of seeing this crap. He is the second coming of Daniel Orton.
The small section of idiots in BBN are ruining it for everybody. Whether they’ll spend time in the D league or not, they don’t need your opinion; please stop making us all look bad.
gone (32), you know it’s true…that’s the ONLY reason y’all want them to stay…so they can have better practice players than Polson and Hood. The funny thing is…your super class could end up just like this past class b/c of lack of practice players pushing them everyday.
and please, no press conference for WCS going pro. Let him announce it on twitter like he loves to do.
Two things. Post players with no post moves are not what the NBA is high on these days. Stein is soft and lacks the heart to play in the league. Second, but I understand. Money is money. If the NBA wants you then leave. Plus leaving next year could land him in the 2nd round with amount of talent coming out then. PEACE!!
25) Toothless haha classic. I have been a UK fan all my life and I have all my teeth. You must live in the east end of Louisville because anything outside of the east end is white trash.
#36 dumb and dumber, come back and talk to us after you get another final four, but no championship banner
hahah…you are in the minority then. go check out some of those southern and eastern counties of this state…Deliverance I tell ya!
31**yeah, but they weren’t all projected as nba players in 2009.
It is possible that Cal has created a monster that has grown out of control. If he can’t even keep guys like WCS, Archie and Alex around for 2 years then can this system work?
Some fans are so dumb. Who cares what he says on his twitter. You don’t want to see it don’t follow him. He’s not even going to leave. All this for nothing. And since when did he not play hard?
41) go check out the first 48 on A&E typical Louisville I tell ya.
gone…preseason ranked #3…”best recruiting class”…no bench…resulted in NIT and first round loss to Bob Morris…GO BTN!
42. 3 of them were…plus the point is that talent and losing are not mutually exclusive. Plenty of talent has come from bad teams.
All the louisville trolls just remember…. you will always be little brother
WCS needs to do whats best for WCS. I would love him to stay…but I wish him the best if he leaves. WCS is an amazing talent imho…and while I think he still needs to develop a bit I also think that could be done here or in the NBA…either way I think he will be successful.
The tweet business cracks me up…he is a kid playing with his phone…so take it for what its worth but don’t get pissed at him over it. The class we have coming in is unprecedented…and if WCS wants to be a part of that he has that option…but the important part is….he has options…and it would be stupid of him not to explore every one of them fully.
Hate to say it but starting to agree with 43. Not one even noel is ready for the nba. And its not even close. They go to anyother school and are here for 3 years (besides nerlens)
Didnt he asnswer his own question about if he is ready. When he sais 3 of the guys from last years team (which was clearly better and had more drive than these guys) are in the d league? So he thinks he has a chance if he comes out this year.
Leave the boy alone, seriously. These “fans” are pathetic.
Stein is young. It is hard to be that age and not be defensive about perceived criticism, especially when he has to deal with significant population of fools. I am sure it is hard to put into perspective the whole culture of UK basketball and consider that some of the hurtful comments are from a great minority.
He’s not good enough to play in the nba. Love him but he’s not. He needs another yr, but it’s his life.
WCS will never make it out of D-league.in the NBA your 2nd contract is where u make all the big bucks, not gonna get a big contract playing in D-league.good luck whatever he decides.
Willie is one of those kids that is just that – still a kid. There is a multi-faceted level of being ready when it comes to basketball, mentally and physically. Skill level, he was and is ready to play at UK, mentally and emotionally he is not ready to play on a stage the size of Kentucky Basketball. I am not sure if the attitude of others rubbed off on him or if his attitude was rubbing off on others – either way, if he comes back it has to change. If he leaves, best of luck with that. The BBN media outlets playing up the fact the young man is an emotional basketcase doesnt help – since he is an emotional basketcase.
I have 1 piece of advice to all UK players. Turn your twitter off! 3/4 of the posts are from UK haters or people the true fan base don’t claim.
What’s almost as worse than a teenager’s tweets about narrowing their list of colleges to choose from is the babble that comes from the potential one-and-done players. I maybe on an island by myself but I just don’t have the invested interest in one-and-done players as I would and still do for the Wayne Turners of college basketball. Especially since the maturity level of certain past one-and-done players are embarrassments
Maybe if grown “fans” would stop tweeting to these kids about the D-League, he wouldn’t feel the need to respond with negative comments. No matter who our coach is, I have a feeling that there will come a time when these “fans” will have a negative impact on which recruits we get and if they stay once we get them. Teenage kids playing basketball in college are only going to be able to stand so much of this garbage. You’d think the “greatest fans in the world” would show more class than this. I realize it’s only a very small portion of the fan-base, but it’s a vocal one and it’s simply ridiculous.
Are y’all dumb? Sure, Willie might leave for the money…who wouldn’t?? But, Poythress and Goodwin are also NO WHERE TO BE FOUND on the first 60 picks of the NBA draft board. They both will be back.
Personally, I think he needs a time out from Twitter. He is angry. Read the content of his messages. It’s not hard to see what he is doing. It’s deliberate with intent to harm our program. So many of our fans are being manipulated into this feeling sorry for him. Please, don’t feed into his drama. This is attention seeking behavior. This says volumes as to what was wrong with this team.
I seriously wonder about you guys who like to fight/rebuttal the trolls. You just don’t get it, do you? They thrive off the attention and reaction people! Ignore them, and in time they’ll go away. Fact: The worst thing you can do to an attention seeker is not pay them any attention.
AND…I think he just made everyone’s point with that last tweet…If 3 players from the Natl Championship team went to the D League…Where does he think he is heading when he is on a team that couldn’t win one game in the NIT…Cal needs to shut the Twitter thing down OR maybe he dosen’t care anymore…Because Willie is starting to make himself look dumb
Love WCS. He just needs to shut up, period! Him talking isn’t doing anyone any good.
WCS if you come on here reread BA Says (49.) three times before you leave, I would think most true WCS supporter feel the same way as BA. Either decision will be positive, enjoy the moment.
It’s a lot more than a small segment of our fan base that are idiots.I know everybody likes to say that one percent but it seems like we are surrounded by them.
I’m sick of everyone saying we need to lay off of these “kids.” They are young men and it isn’t much to ask for them to act like it. If some of these young men had cared even half as much about this season as most of the fans did then they might still be playing. Why is WCS talking about the financial stability of his family when he was taken in by a former pro bowl football player who I guarantee still has money stacked up? Nerlens, Polson, and Archie (to an extent) are the only ones who left it on the floor each and every night and they are the only ones who shouldn’t be criticized. Willie is acting like a little kid and the best fans in the world deserve to support young men who aren’t condescending towards a fan base that packed the arena every night for an NIT team.
156 days until kickoff against the Toppers! Can’t wait!
yeah willie, some of last years team did go to the d league, but if that’s case, where do you think you’ll end up? They won the national championship. You lost to Robert Morris. I understand the crazies are tweeting you all over twitter but you gotta ignore them. If you really need the money though just go.
For starters this is the first time I have EVER responded to one of these things… Willie do what makes you happy, just as long as you have closed one door before opening another…Many of these fans live through you guy’s. I have tried to guide my daughter down the path were I missed out in sports due to making the wrong choice, she is a pitcher in college (softball) You can come back next year and be apart of something very special or go make some cash (cash) will be waiting for you but memories can’t have re-do’s 🙂 Coming from a old guy that wish I could change a few things 😉
Willie needs to know that those 3 that spent time in the D-League had more heart and desire on top of ability than he has. I really want WCS to come back but also I can’t blame him for going if he does.
Cal took Jorts tweeting privileges away, wonder why he hasn’t done so with WCS? I think it would be wise to do so. At some point WCS will regret his hyper impulsive tweeting marathon. This jus t makes him look unstable. If and when he does leave…GMs and agents will take note about his inability to take the pressure and his immaturity.
It really is an intricate question. I’ve seen some kids improve and carve out a place in the NBA after struggling early and playing in the D-league. But I’ve also seen kids wash out quickly. UK has seen both- Azubuike and Morris. Hayes and Crawford.
WCS, his family and Cal need to study the career of Daniel Orton very closely here. I believe WCS is headed for an Orton-like departure and there is no guarantee that either survives long enough at the next level to make big money. Being a 7-footer doesn’t guarantee you crap. If you can play then you’ll survive. But WCS- like Daniel Orton-hasn’t shown that he can actually play. Not yet at least.
The next couple of weeks are going to be very interesting.
Maybe he’s just having some fun with all of the jerks that were tweeting him this year. I wouldn’t blame him. I would love Willie back for another year but he needs to do what’s best for him.
#9 – Most mock drafts i have seen, Willie is a lottery pick…
Yeah he’s a goner. Good luck WCS, thanks for the memories!!!
Matt, Rex was a great HS player!
NBA draft is much less about current talent and more about future potential. In that, there can be little argument that WCS doesn’t have a huge upside. He should probably go and get paid during his on the job training.
Still – it seems we are going to say this every year – sure wish he’d come back.
Lighten up folks…product of being THE program.
This is a primary reason most kids want to come to UK and be coached by Cal.
You can go from star to megastar and from unknown project to lottery pick with one decision.
#59 – You hear plenty of stories about parents living vicariously through their kids, but fans can be the same way. I guess we all do in a way but there’s a certain point when sane people with actual good things going on in their lives stop. It’s really sad and pathetic to see the people that can’t, and unfortunately these fans are the ones that stand out and make us all look bad. The worst thing about BBN are these people.
Cal seriously needs to ban twitter. These kids are young, immature, stupid, and think money & being the so called man is everything in life. Every player should be forced to talk to Mashburn & A Walker about what & what not to do. Making money the easy part, keeping it the hard part.
I take this as a complete lack of reverence from Willie toward the guys from last year’s team. It reveals he basically thinks that him, Archie, and Alex are on the same level as them. Those guys from last year’s team were some all-time UK greats and these guys weren’t. He shouldn’t be talking about them like that.
WCS can say and do whatever he wants and then deal with the results. It’s called growing up and it will come fast in the next few years whether it’s at UK or in the NBA.
He can’t shoot free throws. If he ever became dominant in the NBA, they could start the “Whack-a-willie” like they did the Hack-a-Shaq.
Hi there big fella. You’re going to be rich in a couple of years; you’ll be set for life with plenty of money to treat your family right. If you took the money and ran, I wouldn’t blame you one bit.
However, what are you going to do in life after basketball? Look, if you leave this year you will not be remembered in Kentucky like John Wall, Demarcus Cousins, Brandon Knight, Anthony Davis, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist, or even less impacting players such as Harrelson or Liggins. You may wonder why you should care, but it’s always nice to have people love you. Haters are going to hate, but you’re talented and seem to have a good head on your shoulders. I hope you can see that it’s always nice to have a second home away from home.
Also, let’s talk money. If you’re drafted at 14th, and you could easily slip out of the lottery, you’ll make $4.762 million over three years. If you were to stay another year, polish your offensive game, and get drafted even 4 spots higher than that (10th), you’ll be making $5.847 million. While you lose one year of making money by staying, your guaranteed rookie contract in this scenario is still an overall net gain, and your career might be a year longer due to postponing going through the grueling NBA schedule.
Whatever, decide what you want. I’m biased in my arguments since I want to see you stay, but there are a lot of factors at work here.
Not sure if he comes back or not. But can’t help but think he should stay on campus for those summer hoops games when Davis and MKG are back in school. I would love to see some of those pick-up games.
I would like to see him play one on one with any of those guys from last years team….I think ti would be eye opening
Willie’s thoughts about last year’s guys ought to give him pause because he’s looking at it all backward. Look how talented Terrence Jones and Doron Lamb had to be to get back out of the D-League once they ended up there. If his game is significantly less polished than Terrence’s or Doron’s, how does he expect to get picked back up? He needs more experience so he can escape the D-League when he ends up there! He can’t get that once he’s gone because you don’t get special attention and development in the D-League. It’s a meat market. At Kentucky is where you get those things.
This is some stupid short sided thinking if he jumps. He’s going to get paid if he goes now or waits; waiting makes more money.
he is selfish and is only thinking about money.. so let him go and play d-league ball.. willie get off twitter before you make an ass of yourself.. oh wait you already did that.. you dont deserve to wear that jersey bro..
I’ve already unfollowed him – cya!
BTW – anyone notice the only time Willie took a 8-10 foot jumper was against Robert Morris and looked ackward s hell!
Willie’s leaving folks. And I don’t blame him. He’s gonna be a lotto pick, and soon to be a millionaire. Smart people don’t turn those kind of opportunities down. Next year’s draft will be a lot stronger, and I’m not sure if he can stay in that top 14…
91 — I unfollowed him as well. He has got some immature thinking and people are making too many excuses for him. I’d rather him leave at this point. We don’t need him or his poor mindset.
Later, I would rather have a kid from kentucky that burns to be at UK over a kid who wants to be in the NBA anyday. Stein cant score against Robert Morris and thinks he is ready for the NBA? Head on dude, bye!
I really dont see how he can go to the draft on potential alone. He thinks once he gets drafted he will instantly be a millionaire..well he has to think again because he actually has to make a team to receive a contract first.
This WSC wants attention and that is why he is staying on twitter instead of developing his game when the others like Wiltjer went away from twitter for a while. Willie has been all about his image, looks, how people see him…and now he is soaking in all the extra attention he can.
Theres a girl I know who hangs out with him sometimes. She posts pics on her twitter and instagram of them together. Seems like every weekend they are at the tattoo shop and hes getting ink put on. Guess going to the NBA will help him be fully tatted and pay for all that.
Heck, Perry Stevenson had more ”game knowledge” than WSC does. All WSC has is athletic ability. He jumps every ball fake, averages 4 fouls a game, and is too quick to act when given the ball. Toothpicks cant guard trees…so once he gets to the NBA or if he even does, then he will have to be a PF and no C. He reminds me of an up and coming Javale Mcgee or however you spell his name.
What kills me is how some of you people hold that against him like it makes him the bad guy or something. Hell, I’m a successful 34 y/o, and if someone offered me millions of dollars to come work for them, you better believe I’m gone. If I was 19 and broke, that choice would be even easier. Every single one of you would take the money as well…don’t kid yourself.
WCS just tweeted that hes coming back so calm down!!!
These 3 guys know they will not be able to compete against the freshman next year and might as well get paid to play in Berlin, than sit on the bench in Lexington. Recuit kids that care abt UK Cal!
96- Wrong. If he is drafted in the 1st round, he is guaranteed a 2 year contract, with a team option for a third year.
He wont be a millionaire if drafted in 1st round… think about it he will have to deal with taxes, moving, paying lawyer/agent/manager. As much style, clothes, tattoos he already cares about he will not have much money leftover. Does Willie really care about playing or about what his future holds? MKG wanted to help his family and we knew it from the start. What does Willie want? Does he want to help his family or himself? Seems to me its all about him right now and he is soaking it in.
Would I go to the draft if I knew I was a late 1st round pick..yes without a doubt. But really sit back and forget your love for UK for a second. Can you really see Willie playing any minutes for an NBA team next season?? Look how sloppy his defense is, his shooting ability, no jump shot, weak post moves, post defense, out of control playing style, ability to adjust to different defenses, ability to play around other players…etc.
Think about last year’s players who got drafted and look at their playing time. Terrence Jones isnt in the NBA, what happened to Daniel Orton, Doron Lamb and Darius Miller both are up and down with playing time or staying on the roster.
I see no way that Willie gets drafted with what numbers he has put up. Of course he should take the money if its offered this year but really his long term career will be hindered by it. Imagine if he stayed next year and the year after. He could become one of the top picks and make more money.
Ok this is the biggest and only point I will make…. Every game we heard something about how this is Willies first year of playing basketball and how he was a football WR last year.
Riddle me this….how can a guy who has played basketball 1 year go to the NBA and be successful in his first year or second year? This kid will have to grow up very very very quickly when facing the real world. Right now he has Cal and team advising him on every decision so once he goes pro he will have money hungry guys in his ear. BIG change of advice. He will be lucky to survive a season in the D-league if you even think about it because of the more advanced competition. It will really show if he wants to make the NBA or just doesnt have it in him to make it and is just money hungry.
I’ll miss Cauley-Stein just about as much as I missed Daniel Orton after he left…not a damn bit!
Just go on and go bro. It’s a horrible decision and one you will regret for the rest of your life. But if you don’t get it, and Cal can’t convince you to stay until you and your game or ready, then go. I will personally miss watching you be a part of a National Championship team. But I won’t miss the ridiculous comments on twitter. You got a lot of growing up to do and the NBA doesn’t have enough patience for that.
I am disappointed in KSR for posting this. Poor Willie is getting so much heat for a few tweets, yeah he may be doing it for attention and what not. But some people are so hateful. How can you directly tweet at him and call him names and down talk his ability to do something. UK fans shouldn’t be talking about how he should play for the name on the front of his jersey when you sit there and wear UK stuff and hate on your own player! Sure it’s disappointing how our season turned out but stop being assholes and let the kid live. He IS only 19 years old and he is just a human trying to make a living. Be supportive cats fans and not a bunch of haters. Stop making UK fans looks so bad.
3 players from Champ team went to D league? Exactly, and those players were GREAT. WOnder where 3 below average players from the NIT team will end up?
Well Bye!
107 is exactly right. The fact that 3 of our national championship players went to the D League shouldn’t make him more optimistic about the NBA; it should make him less optimistic about the NBA. Surely Cal will convince these guys that they need more time.
Oh sorry I thought this was a UK board not INDIANA, i support UK and all our players and the decisions they make go cats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I would not even be a second round draft pick…this is one situation where the “Kentucky Effect” hurts us.
WCS big decision to make. do not read into any of these tweets because you do not know who is really writing them. I think you have the potential to be one of the NBA’s premier centers but you need a little more seasoning to get there. D league is tough, minor leagues against one another to hope for a NBA spot is cut throat..staying at UK will get you to where you want to be sooner than leaving after one year. Make the investment in your education and your earnings will be five times greater than a one and done. Your seasoning will make you a top 5 within two years or less
WCS wasn’t even the leading scorer at the end of the season in a game against Robert Morris where he had like 6 inches over his defenders. If he can’t dominate against a bunch of midgets how is he going to do anything in the NFL. I wonder if he dreamt of being a millionaire one year and eating out of a dumpster the next.
Lots of fakes on here today. UL and IU fans have had nothing to do for several days waiting to loose in their next round of games. IU tonight and Lville on Sunday. I don’t care what Pitino says. Oregon is not the best team in the tourney. He was hilarious talking about what tough opponents they have had.
110- AMEN!!!! Thank you! Kills me how some of you people will turn your back on a 19 y/o kid at the first sign that he is not doing exactly as you want him to do. Knowing damn well, that every single one of you would take the money as well. If he leaves…Congratulatiions, you made it to the NBA. If he stays…Wonderful, let’s get #9.
I am UK fan all the way but at beginning of season I always knew Willie would not be a great center. I always thought of him as a compliment to Nerlens. Just because you are tall and 7ft does not mean you are a great basketball player. He was not the same player as Nerlens or even Anthony Davis. After Willie being the only guy on the court made be realize this season was over and also thought he wouldnt be tough enough for the NBA. How can you go from being a WR in football last year to being a center for the most looked at college school for basketball? If he played at Louisville, we UK fans would be laughing at him. The fact he is on our team means we are standing up for him.
More than anything we should be hoping he stays here next year and possibly the following year (after looking at that draft class). He will improve his academics most importantly, all around game, gain a jump shot, learn what the post means, learn to not fall for a pump fake, learn to stay on his feet, learn to defend vs guys 100lbs of muscle bigger than him.
Do the positives of a Kentucky men’s basketball player interacting (with fans) on twitter really outweigh the negatives? I think it’s pretty apparent WCS isn’t mature enough to handle criticism from his followers on twitter, which I think is a bit ironic considering how this season played out. And these recent tweets make him look so starved for attention. I feel like this was one of the most immature, mentally unstable Kentucky teams we’ve ever had. If you can’t handle the heat, why even subject yourself to it? I know I sure as hell wouldn’t want to sign on to a social media outlet and read of bunch of people critiquing my play. How do you think a sensitive teenager would handle it? See WCS. Playing on a stage like Kentucky, this type of stuff comes with the territory. Regardless of how much talent you posssess or how well you’re playing, someone is always going to have something negative to say about your game. The best thing to do is IGNORE the haters or at the least, go out and use it as motivation. Teague is a great example. He was under quite a bit of criticism from fans due to his poor play at the beginning of last season. But instead of trying to defend himself and lash out to fans on twitter, he went out and let his play on the court do the talking, and quickly hushed his naysayers. Like Cal says, Kentucky isn’t for everyone – you have to be mentally tough and have some real thick skin to play here. But if you live in the gym (shoutout to the former breakfast club) and do everything in your ability to maximize your potential, you’re surely to be beloved by BBN, and that’s completely worth it imo. Lastly, if Cal isn’t going to ban twitter, I sure as hell wish he’d hire someone to teach a class on how to properly handle oneself on social media outlets.
This guy’s full of himself. Good freaking riddance.
Someone should tell WCS that about 50% of NBA players money go to taxes, agent, etc…. So, if he thinks he, or his family will be set for life off of a 2 year contract he is mistaken.
Also, if he is having trouble dealing with the expectations of college fans, what kind of pressure does he think that NBA players that are being paid millions of dollars deal with. If he thinks they are paid and do not recieve pressure of expections to earn that money he is wrong.

This dude is who Sean Woods referred to at the season’s tip. ZERO respect for the fans, the program or it’s history. Gave more thought to his basketball “accessories” and image than his team or free throws. And princesses have demanded less coddling than this dude. Terrence Jones took more shit from fans than anyone Cal’s had here. I don’t recall him ever saying anything less than absolute love for the BBN. Good riddance, Willie.
