Today was a great day in the Ville and showcased just how Blue this state really is. On 4th Street Live, somewhere around 1,000 people showed up for a Big Blue Pep Rally. Rich Brooks did his call-in show, Mitch Barnhart spoke, Lee Todd addressed the crowd and Tom Leach greeted the fans. It was a great day where all of Louisville’s Kentucky fans could come together and celebrate their new found football celebrity. The crowd was wild, Kentucky Sports Radio was blasting and the city has never seemed so beautiful. Wish you could have been there. And if you get a chance, I hope you will listen this afternoon to Mitch Barnhart’s interview with us….you could really hear his pride and happiness ringing in his voice.
With this vibe of possibility in the air, it leads me to ask, what is your predicted record for the rest of the year? Specifically, how do you see the next eight games going? I saw a discussion on Kentucky Sports Report as to what the likelihood of victories in the last eight games may be and it led me to make such a ranking for myself. I see (in likelihood of winning):
1. Florida Atlantic
2. Mississippi State
5. South Carolina
As you can see by this ranking, I value home field. Florida is certainly better than Georgia, but when one combines the likelihood of Georgia improving during the year and the fact that the Cats beat them last year, it seems more likely that a Gator victory is in the cards than another Bulldog stomp.
What say you? How do you rank them?
More on Jennings tomorrow and another name on the horizon…..
