On the day designated for honoring the senior class, it was again the superstar junior who took charge, sparking a second-half charge from a team that appeared to be lifeless for the games first thirty minutes. Randall Cobb finished with 286 total yards on 20 touches and 2 touchdowns, which was good enough to put him pass Rafael Little for the most total yards in a single season. But, more importantly, gave the consistent effort his teammates seemed to lack and did what all great leaders do and brought out the best in the second half. Mike Hartline finished his last home game with 232 yards passing and a touchdown (a 55-yarder to fellow senior Chris Matthews) and Derrick Locke drastically changed his statline with his final carry at Commonwealth going for 83 yards. He finished the day with 145 yards on 20 carries and two touchdowns.
Overall, not a pretty game and plenty to complain about. But, a win is a win and the streak continues. We have all the time in the world to discuss everything else.
