It is 3 am and I just pulled back into Louisville. A crazy night in Eastern Kentucky as the Barnstorming Tour pulled into Hazard and the Kentucky guys beat the 14th Region All Stars 142-90. The game saw some unbelievable shooting by nearly everyone involved on both teams, but none moreso than Ramel Bradley, who put up the following point totals:
23-34 from the three point line
It really was kind of amazing to watch. Yes Ramel took a lot of shots, but he probably shot something like 70 percent from the field during the game. Add to that the fact that the 14th Region guys were playing defense and scoring pretty heavily themselves, and it was quite a game. Joe Crawford had a reverse double-clutch dunk that was amazing and Woo brought the house down with an off-the-backboard dunk that may still have Perry Central gymnasium shaking. A great night in Hazard and fun was had by all. In other news, Randolph Morris will be joining us for Saturday’s event in Nicholasville at East Jessamine. Be sure and come out….
— Billy Gillispie was in Texas today visiting Roderick Flemings. Really everyone is looking at Flemings, but he told an Hawaii newspaper that he was down to UK and Hawaii. That may be a good sign for Kentucky, who is trying to get one of the more explosive JUCO scorers in America. There are still some qualification issues however with Flemings, so even a commitment may come with some waiting for UK fans. But still a very interesting development. More on this tomorrow….
— For the many people who ask me, I will just say this. Not looking good on the Derrick Jasper front. Doesnt mean he wont come back, but no news I hear is good news.
— Woo is great
— Am hearing that Kentucky kid Arrez Henderson may be walking on next year. A couple of hoops to jump but Kentucky has asked him to do so and he is inclined to accept.
More later today….Ramel’s 102 wore me out and I gotta sleep….Paducah tomorrow….
