Matt, the Truth is a joke. In 1887, Major League Baseball counted bases on balls as hits. The result was skyrocketed batting averages, including some near .500, and the experiment was abandoned the following season. Current record books do not count walks in 1887 as hits. Babe Ruth was born in 1895…12 years after the poor one year rule was tried and abandoned.

    Hi Matt
Have a great baseball trip. If you are making the drive from Boston to Philly (prob 6-7 hours) and wanted a free meal or pit stop to shoot some hoops on the only court in Connecticut with the UK logo on it, by all means hit me up at [email protected]. I make a mean breakfast or more than willing to use the grill for a summer lunch cookout depending on your ETA. It would be my honor to host you. And yes, I was the UK fan from CT who called the show Final 4 week. Damn, I wish had bragging rights here! And my 2 kids and I would love to challenge you to a 3-on-3 contest or slam dunk and/or free throw contest. Hope to hear from you!

-MY INTERESTING THEORY ON WHATS HAPPENING WITH THE LOCKOUT-…i preface this by saying that i dont expect this to be the general consensus but that being said, that which is popular is never an indication of whats truly going on.

I think that those in power (owners, media)are going to sacrifice 1-2 years in an attempt to break and force elite players to play over seas. This is sad but practical. With an ever growing emphasis on international business and national borders dissolving in terms of how business/corporations work i think owners/media groups see other countries as a potential untapped market…no amount of advertising would stimulate foreign countries’ interest quite like having nba players play there for a season or 2. To me I think it would be a logical investment strategy to bite the bullet and sacrifice a year or 2 if the end result was an unlocked NBA with a market that doubled or tripled (more tv deals, more merchandise sales etc)….Most of us, working middle class people are willing to invest and wait a few years for a return; would it not make sense for tycoons to do the same from time to time? Its not like they cant afford to survive the drought. And if NBA players were known for saving and planning well with their money then this would be pointless as they SHOULD be able to go decades without working. In reality though im sure that they have silly amounts of $ going out and arent in a position to not get paid for as long as most of us think. Thats what the unemotional intellect within me thinks.

The fan in me thinks that this is just flat out shameful all across the board. Owners are punishing players for being greedy, but its the owners’ that paid them those ridiculous salaries. I think and hope that something gets worked out and the fan in me thinks that if they do have the audacity to burn a season or more, that we should have the audacity to punish the league by not watching or paying attention to them for a while

ps…who im sad for most in all of this are the players in their mid-late 30’s who NEED to actively train and play in order to maintain vigor and what not….its sad thinking about guys being forced to bow out cause of this

ANY CHANCE YOU COULD ADDRESS MY POST?…maybe see what others think? Even if law dog disagrees with me i’d still love to have it put out there. i’ve called the show b4 but never had the luxury of waiting 20 mins to talk to someone. im listening though 🙂 Take care you all

Saturday’s NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at the Kentucky Speedway proves one thing to us Kentuckians: John Calipari has not generated enough excitement around our basketball program. Traffic around Rupp Arena before and after UK basketball games has never been anything like what we saw at the Speedway. This can only mean that Calipari has failed in generating excitement for the program and is undeserving of his new contract. This is supposed to be a basketball state, but Calipari has done such a poor job in generating excitement and connecting with the fans like the NASCAR folks have!

“The Truth” is a complete idiot. We get it Truth you like IU blah blah blah. But tell me this Truth, what sport is IU any good at? They suck at basketball they suck at football they suck at women’s basketball. Maybe they are good at playing ping pong or crazy eights. Also, the truth sounds like he has a mouth full shit when he speaks. He can not be speaking English. Please block him like unHandsome Jimmy.
