Just a few minutes ago our friends Tony Kornheiser (my media hero) and Mike Wilbon (who was better when he wore glasses) debated the Eric Bledsoe situation on the PTI program. Their basic take is one that most fans seem to agree with….if the NCAA cleared Eric Bledsoe, how can you come back now and say that Calipari was wrong for playing him? Tony Kornheiser noted Calipari’s past and said, “when does vacate become a vacation?” However he later said that you cant punish Calipari or UK if the NCAA cleared the kid. Wilbon even went further, noting that it was hypocritical to say that the kid can play and then to come back and say he cannot, when the mistake in not finding any potential errors was on the Clearinghouse.
All in all, a positive perspective on UK’s situation and different than Pete Thameltoe’s absurd “Analysis” that was published in the New York Times earlier today.
