Projecting UK’s season through NCAA Football ’13

I purchased the popular NCAA Football ’13 video game when it was released almost two weeks ago and I’ve been looking for a way to write it off as a business expense ever since. Then I remembered TJ having the same dilemma last year, when he used the game to simulate Kentucky’s season. So I did the same thing for 2012.

Here are three simulations to project UK football’s 2012 season, directly from the EA Sports football game.

(Don’t take it too seriously. It’s just for fun, people.)

Does the simulation in with Joker being fired? I know it is early but is it really that early to start calling for Joker’s head?

Winning AT FLorida? That would be worth finish 5 and 7.

I’ll take the road win over Florida with a 5-7 record all day. lol

That seems pretty accurate Drew… btw La’rod King and Coshik Williams are the Sheeznit on the game.

So true #4, I’d take 5-7 and ending the Florida streak and run with it!!

I just finished a season and our Cats went 1-11 with the only win being Samford. It was depressing.

1- Start? That’s been going on for a LONG time…

The second simulation seems legit. I still see us winning 5 games though. Maybe a win against Vandy or Mississippi St.

If UK wins four games this year they’ll be dancing in the streets.

I am currently playing our season and I’m 4-0… CoShik is boss. Wish it were real life.

Well those records are obtainable this season. I still think Joker deserves at least 4 years.

That USC game looks like a trap game after beating Florida. We just didn’t show up for that game… SMH

It’s with mixed emotions that the Cats beat Samford (as a ’77 Samford Pharmacy Grad). But the silver lining is that Joker is gone. So much for the ‘continuity’ of ‘the Coach in Waiting’ experiment. Mike Leach….’come on down!’ .

I’ll take the 2nd one. We are in every game but one and would probably be around 9-3 against the spread. That would be an exciting year.

If you simulated U of L’s schedule three times before the 2011 season they would not have made it to a bowl game. Stay positive!

#12 – Use some of that ‘Common Sense’. So tired of hearing Joker deserves this, Joker deserves that, Joker deserves at least 3 to 4 years. WTH? These were his recruits. He doesn’t deserve anything. It’s not like he came in and inherited someone elses players. I’m a Joker fan, but he is constantly out coached on the field.

Yes they are basically his recruits. But the Offense took so many hits last season and its a miracle that we won 5 games. He still has to learn to become a HC as he has never been one before and I think he is doing a great job with what he has. HE BEAT UT WITH A WR AT QB!!!!!!!!!! Tell me what other coach could do that.

I absolutely love our fanbase and how we have come to expect so little from our football program. Good job, Mitch! If we have fans that are happy with a losing season, just so we can get 1 win over a team that has historically owned us – then we are truly a poor group. So what, does Joker get a contract extention if we beat Florida? Damn, people! UK is the definition of mediocre. Let’s start paying Joker on a per game basis – if the guys play well, Joker gets some cash, if we actually win that game he gets a bonus.

Congrats UK football fans, you are a prime example of what is wrong with this country – let’s give every kid that participates a trophy and pat on the back (and by Gawd, don’t tell Junior how bad he truly sucks).

Common – is that you, Joker. Damn, you make more excuses for this guy! Did you just say he “has to still learn to be HC?” WOW!!! And who’s fault is that??? UK should not have a coach learn on the job – we should have a guy that has been a HC before. Hell, we didn’t even get a top notch assistant from a winning program. We got Joker.

And injuries? Every football team has injuries. I hope Joker pulls a hammy and has to “coach” from the box – then I wont have to look at his silly azz when he continues to get outsmarted.

Great stuff. I purchased the 2012 version of the Wigi board. It said the picture of your game has a Maryland player with #44 in your picture. Glitch in your game. Did you save your receipt. Also Loserville should never be posted ever with a victory over UK. My Wigi boards started burning over that.

    Drew,
You can get the tight assed law dog(Matt)to pay for the game. As for the game simulations sounds to me you are pretty much right on the money. I hate it that all 3 times those filthy Cards are beating us. I can take most anything but not losing to those damned filthy Cards

Every coach has to start somewhere!!! Joker is respected around the league but not by our own fan base, that is SAD! Every football team has injuries, yes, but we had injuries to KEY players and we lost Cobb to the NFL, what did you expect!? Let Joker prove you wrong as he goes to a bowl game in year 4 of his career.

Common – 1) When was the last time UK had a first time HC? 2) Who exactly respects Joker around the SEC? Why did none of them snatch up ‘The Great Joker’ before Mitch got us all involved in this experiment? Why does Joker need 4 years to “get the job done?” HE RECRUITED EVERY ONE OF THESE KIDS! Will Joker man up and and not accept a salary next year if we don’t finish 7-5? Cause 6-6 and some B.S. bowl doesn’t count!!! Dude is a loser, period.

The simulations, especially #2, look kind to me. Lets just skip the season and put those numbers in the record books. No way we lose to UF by just 1, Mizzou, UGA, ARK and SC by less than 7.

Respected around the league ??? For what???? His sterling coaching abilities,,,his record,,,,his ability to bring in top recruits,,,,his ability to fill the stands at CWS????? I am surprised that his last job was not as a Community Organizer. We can waste time and money for years on Joker or we can move on and stop this lame experiment. I can accept some measure of mediocrity but this impending disaster,,I don’t have to support. What will you say when we finish 2 and 10,,,,give him another year or two ???
